A word of warning for those contemplating this purchase. It might seem that, on the face of things, that this would be an automatic buy, especially given the rarity of both albums in the CD era. This unauthorised issue from a bootleg label is supremely flawed. Ignoring the "remastered" claim on the cover, the worst aspect of this release is the s/t début album which makes, or should make, up the first six tracks. Instead of the full album, consisting of around 35 minutes of music, each track is truncated and instead of the full album you get just 10 minutes of music! This is the oddest and probably worst unauthorised album release I have come across. With regard to the second album, the times on the CD are all over the place compared to that of the original vinyl issue, so goodness knows what is going on here! If you want the music from this Belgian band, this is currently the only viable option. Buy now and accept the compromise or wait for a possible, and official release? Caveat emptor!

5.0 out of 5 stars Never released, 27 Mar 2013
This review is from: Gideon's Day [DVD] (DVD)
Amazon should really pull this listing as the DVD was never issued. My memory, possibly incorrect, was that it was going to be issued and just prior to the release the production company went bust. Henceforth this is not available and never was. We will have to wait until someone else gets the license to issue it.

That said it's a great little film, typical of the era and just as one might expect with Jack Hawkins in the lead. Come on you DVD companies, stop re-issuing the same old films for the umpteenth time and give us something new!

You get what you pay for and at £1.50 the buyer cannot expect too much. It is a bargain too good to be true and it didn't quite last two months before going belly-up. At least it didn't blow my car's fuses as per another reviewer. Seemingly cheap at £1.50 but scaling it up equates to £12 for a year's use and it starts to look pretty expensive. I bit the bullet after this cautionary experience and bought a badged Sony charger. Let's see how that goes......

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value, 2 Feb 2012

A great little, cheap product that does not feel "cheap". It's real leather, albeit with a somewhat sickly smell and the cover for the screen is secured by a magnet in the strap. The phone is held in place by a plastic cradle - where it snaps in. All the buttons are accessible through small slots and even the camera and speaker have their own slots, although I'm not sure how discreet the camera slot is, it may impinge upon the edge of snap (yet to test). The latter is hardly important as the phone can be removed easily from the cradle when photography is required.
The main reason for purchase was purely and simply to get a cover that protected the otherwise vulnerable touch screen. That it's leather and very cheap are a bonus.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ultimate? I think not!, 16 Jan 2012

Having done the first book of this series, I started off in the same vein with this one. That is, I entered in the possibles in each square when the answer was in doubt. I soon found that this was unnecessary and just about every puzzle in the book can be done without any working out and just using my memory. There were perhaps five or so that did require some jotting down of possibilities. Even using this method, in an attempt to eke out a little more difficulty from each puzzle, most were done in around 30 minutes and some only took around 10. I am clearly quite good at these puzzles but certainly no world beater and overall, I have found this book to be far too easy. I will move on to book three and hope to find more of a challenge. I do wish that compilers would stop pussyfooting around with easy puzzles and give the consumer something that really would test us.
It's still the "hardest" series of books that I have yet found for Killer - most that are labelled as "hard" are ridiculously simple.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lost classic? Most assuredly so!, 4 Sep 2011
This review is from: Cold Cuts (Audio CD)
Here's yet another album from my home country that completely escaped me. I'd never heard of the guy or the album and I'd never noticed that he had been part of the Crazy World of Arthur Brown. On the face of it, and after reading the comments of other reviewers, you'd think this album had all the right ingredients for me; similar in style to both Arthur Brown and the Crazy World, lots of Hammond, melodrama at its finest - it's all there. After the big build-up there's nearly always a huge disappointment and let's face it, I never agree with anyone else's opinion regarding music and their allusions are inevitably way off the mark. I have at last got around to trying it and wow, what a cracking album! This is the point where, unless I am very careful, I get carried away and start flinging superlatives in every direction, so I will try and reign them in. It is remarkable in its similarity to the aforementioned Crazy World album and also to a lot of the vocal phrasing, the latter being very like Arthur Brown, especially in his use of vibrato. I suppose working with the great man inevitably meant some of his massive talent would rub off on his subordinates. There's plenty of Hammond to satisfy me, as well as some nice Jazz-tinged piano and I have to say that the keyboards are, unsurprisingly, very similar to The Crazy World's late great keyboard player Vincent Crane. There's also some brass accompaniment, again evoking the Crazy World album but where it differs is the inclusion of electric guitar. There is some similarity to Atomic Rooster's album "In Hearing of", again to no surprise.

It is no plagiarist album, despite the overt references but it does have exactly the same feel about it to that of the Crazy World album - the same intimate chamber arrangements. I see it more of a companion piece than a tribute or copy and, ironically, far more so than the Arthur Brown "Strangelands" album. Anyone buying the latter and hoping for more of the same as the classic AB album will, most likely, be very disappointed and this would be a better bet if you wanted more of "the same". It will stand up in its own right as an outstanding effort. The composition, the arrangements, the performances of all the musicians are all top notch and frustratingly illustrates what a talent this guy was.

A good album is one that leaves you wanting more and more and that is absolutely the case here. So, don't pass this one by!

Linksys by Cisco WAG320N Wireless N Gigabit Dual Band Modem Router (for ADSL / telephone line connections i.e BT Broadband)
Linksys by Cisco WAG320N Wireless N Gigabit Dual Band Modem Router (for ADSL / telephone line connections i.e BT Broadband)

4.0 out of 5 stars Good basic router, 26 Aug 2011

As an ex Network Engineer, using mainly Cisco products, I was hoping that this had some sort of CLI but sadly it doesn't. I presume that it's just a LinkSys product, badged as Cisco. You cannot see any meaningful stats (the current net speed up and down is NOT dynamic). Neither can you do a trace route, nor a ping to a named network address (only to an IP address), nor ping from a specific port. You can see a network routing table, you can use Natting, although I have yet to play with that aspect. I have not used the Wireless aspect as I have no wireless devices yet. There is a very basic Firewall onboard, again un-tested.
What you get is a very basic router that does the job, in other words, for home ADSL connection to your ISP. If you need LinkSys support, via telephone, the guys there are pretty helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars An official DVD release - at long last!, 1 Jun 2011
A wonderful, magical film imbued with all the atmosphere typical of the period. Superb performances and story backed with peerless cinematography (that jack Cardiff would have been proud of) and atmospheric music.

During the latter part of the second world war, a group of disparate travellers end up at a remote Welsh Inn that was supposedly blown up and subsequently burnt down by a stray German raider. Yet, the pub still stands and its host and his daughter, played by real life father and daughter, Mervyn and Glynis Johns, are still there. The whole place has an other worldly feel and all of the troubles that the customers bring with them are confronted by the ghostly proprietors. Odd things are noticed by the travellers - the hosts cast no shadows and the newspapers and radio broadcasts are all a year out of date.

This is nothing short of superb and ranks alongside the very best of the war's cinematic output and remains one of my favourite films of all time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Far too easy, 30 Nov 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I am a real sucker for Killer and Samurai but unless both are, at the very least, very challenging, they become tiresome. This book is supposed to be of varying grades of difficulty and I suppose to some extent that is true. Sadly, the degree of hardness ranges from ridiculously easy to quite easy. Even the "harder" puzzles are little more than an exercise in how quickly you can fill numbers in.
In short, this book is for the novice and will provide no sort of challenge for those that are beyond the stage of beginner.

If fidelity is important to the listener they should avoid this like the plague. It is a needle-drop and a bad one at that. It is infused with crackles, scratches and needle-wear induced hiss. The performance is fine but nothing more. There are plenty of other choices for this opera.
