4.0 out of 5 stars It grows on you..., 6 Oct. 2012
This review is from: North (Audio CD)
I have to admit, when I first heard this album I wasn't so keen but I left it a few days, and went back for a another listen and it's really grown on me. It may be a bit more mainstream than previous albums, but it's still definitely got that MB20 feel, especially in songs such as 'Like Sugar'.

It's not going to match the likes of Mad Season, but definitely a must-buy for a MB20 fan.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shockingly bad, 21 July 2012
The Tv is very very slow - both in turning on and changing channels - and the DVD player is possibly the worst I have ever come across. If the DVD has the slightest scratch, it won't play. I would never, ever buy a product from this company again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding album, 29 Oct. 2011
This review is from: Flight Of The Crow (Audio CD)
I'd never heard of Passenger until a week or ago when I came across Mike playing in The Glee Club in Birmingham, but the first song he played had me hooked. I have bought every song released and I'm absolutely in love with his music.

It's heartfelt, it's moving and the lyrics are often a mix of the beautifully sad and funny and I haven't heard an artist that I've loved this much since I found Tom McRae.

Mike and Passenger deserve fame and fortune so much more than the money-grabbing X-factorites because the talent of this man is incredible.

I swear if you buy this you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and Beautiful, 24 Aug. 2009
This review is from: Black Swan (Audio CD)
This album is simple and beautiful. From upbeat and 80s pop music (Superhuman Touch) to slow and heartbreaking melodies (Love Come Rescue), it has something to suit all moods, and although it doesn't quite match the brilliance of Tourist, it's close. It's more mature than Vehicles and Animals, it's more creative than Beyond The Neighbourhood, and on occasions it's more heartfelt than Tourist with Black Swan Song a touching tribute to Joel Pott's grandfather in WW2.

This is anything but bland, one of the best albums of the year and worth every penny. Athlete are by far the most under-appreciated band in the UK. If you buy thi album, you won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly Fantastic, 24 Nov. 2006
This review is from: 9 (Audio CD)
General consensus seems to be that this album is not as good as 'O', but to me, the opening track sets the tone for the whole album. '9 Crimes' is a stunning musical accomplishment, very emotional, and the lyrics are beautiful. This is the same throughout; thoughtful, deep lyrics and wonderful harmonies.

If there's one album to be bought at the moment, this would be it.

An outstanding follow-up to his debut.

5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly Brilliant, 31 July 2006
This review is from: Room 21 (Audio CD)
I have never understood why Toby Bourke never became as popular as he deserved. This CD is absolutely fantastic. There isn't a bad song on here, although for me there are several which stand out.

Sound of your heart is a completely beatuiful song, and of course Waltz Away Dreaming with George Micheal has to be listened to time and time again.

If there is an album to buy this year, Room 21 is it, even if it is an older one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely outstanding., 1 Feb. 2006
This review is from: Tom Mcrae (Audio CD)
Tom Mcrae is one of the truly outstanding artists of our generations. I was introduced to him by my brother, and have since bought all of his albums, including his most recent 'All Maps Welcome'.
There are some outstanding songs on this album, including 'End of the world now', and 'bloodless', but to be honest, it is immensly difficult to pick one out from the array of fantasticly beautiful music .
One of the best singer/songwriter's out there, and certainly deserves more recognition than he has gained.
A must have!!

This is one of my altime favourite albums already. Complete class from start to finish. The lyrics and melody in 'Blind' is simply stunning.
Definately worth buying

5.0 out of 5 stars absolutely fantastic, 16 May 2003
this cd has to be the best soundtrack cd i have ever heard. not only are the songs original, the quality is amazing, most especially 'sleeping awake' by P.O.D. No wonder people are looking forward to the film with songs like this fronting the release. A full 5 stars, and well worth buying.
