A great book which all the thousands of club racing cat 2/3/4 riders or Nyone with a passion for bikes will relate to. Shows the difficulties us mere mortals face in balancing our working and personal relationships with our passion and selfishnes when getting on a bike for hours at a time.

A good insight into the great man although if you consider a drug using cheat "great" is a matter for personal opinion. Obviously deeply troubled and nuerotic individual who had real talent but let the downside of his success take him to a darker world that money and fame give you access to. Yes this book gives you a great insight into him and his life but i did find it a challenging read with basically boring passages interspersed with the interesting bits. condense this book down to about a third of its length and i would have built as good a picture of the man and enjoyed doing so at the same time

Yes some of the climbs you know that you consider up there may not be in this book but it is still fantastic. handy pocket size with just the right detail for each climb. i take it wherever i go on a trip and am gradually ticking them off as i go. encourages you seek out and ride the hills. I do the alps every year with some of the tdf climbs and some in this book match them in difficulty if not length. oxnop scar and a few others in yorkshire for starters. Just ordered the follow up and can,t wait to get it.
