5.0 out of 5 stars Memories, 16 Mar. 2009
I bought the Album when it came out, god was it that long ago. I think back then I bought it on the strength of the Artwork, which looked like it had been done by Roger Dean on steroids. The more I listened to the music and looked/read the book the better it got, the music just sounded like it should to match the stunning artistry of Mr Patrick Woodroffe.
So has it stood the test of time, I think so, it still sounds alive and vibrant, if anything it sounds better now it has had the transfer to CD. In all honesty I had forgotton just how much I loved it, the memories of those far away times came flooding back. Phil Collins proves once again that he's a much underated drummer. Dave Greenslade is a true master of the keyboard and has never really got the respect he deserved and I think this album has a place in anyones music collections.

Just one request could the record company bring this out in the origional packaging so the artwok can be enjoyed it it's full glory.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Budget Buy, 1 Oct. 2008
These speakers offer execelent value for money and are a great choise for someone wishing the make the leap to surround sound. I have teamed the speakers with a Sony - STR-DG520 Surround Amp and can honestly say the sound is extreamly good. I have listened to other DVD based systems and this setup blows them out of the water, the speakers are quite small but produce a big bright sound. The sub produces a lovely deep rumble which the cheaper DVD based systems simply cannot match. Overall then I am well pleased.

A quick word of thanks to Hughes Direct who supplied the system, quality servive chaps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Quality Budget Price, 1 Oct. 2008
Having managed to wreck two Accoustic Solutions surround systems I thought it about time to invest in something better. The Sony - STR-DG520 was selected because it had good reviews and came at a price that did'nt upset the boss of the house. The unit offers plenty of inputs to allow the user to hook the system ut to a varity of sources. In use the system works well with a good bright sound without sounding shrill, theres plenty of bass on hand which makes watching blockbusters litterly blockbusting. Overall when teamed with the Yamaha NSP110 Speaker system offers the user a quality sound system for a little over £200.00, you could spend a lot more and still get less.

A quick word of thanks to Hughes Direct who supplied the system, execelent service chaps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Haynes Roadster, 11 July 2008
If you have always fancied building a 7 style sportscar but were put of by the price of most kits then this could be the book for you. The book details how to build a complete car from fabricating the chassis to passing the SVA, some areas are covered better that others but overall it's very good and tells you most of what you need to know. As you can purchase parts and materials as you require them you don't need to buy everything at once. Chris Gibbs together with Martin Keenan have designed a very solid chassis which will build into a very nice finished car. A growing list of companies are supporting the roadster which mean if you don't fancy getting covered in fibreglass you can but the bits ready made. Help is also available on the dedicated Haynes Forum, go on buy a copy and get the garage cleared out you know you want to. Me I started building mine a few days ago.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mood Music, 2 Jun. 2008
This review is from: The Voyager (Audio CD)
OK so I'm a bit behind here, I have listened to all of M O's output over the years and like others he has had his brilliant albums and some which have not been as good. This album is very definatly one of the best, it weaves celtic, orchestral and Mike's own style to form a feast of wonderful mood music. If I had to pick one track to take on a desert island it would have to be Mont St Michel, it's as good a piece of musical picture painting as you will ever hear, the blend of pipes and orchestra are just breathtaking. An Album to savour, put on the headphones, close your eyes and be transported to another place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb, 24 Mar. 2008
This review is from: Blue Street (Audio CD)
OK I know I'm a bit behind with this but I have only just got the album. How I missed this at the time I don't know, this is a superb album of guitar instramental music aside from Still Going to a GoGo and Are You Ready which sounds very gosple to me. Chris Rea must have had a lot of fun recording this and it shows, it's very accessable, easy to listen to and overall a very rewarding experience. It contains a varity of musical styles, jazz, blues, hawaiian, even a nod to Joe Walsh with Funk48. The music is as you would expect, chock full of emoution and passion. All in all it's a five star offering.

One thing, if the record label ever looks here, please please reissue this.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best, 20 Mar. 2008
This review is from: Music Of The Spheres (Audio CD)
OK having now listened to the album and read the reviews here I think I have been listening to a different album. This album is Mike Oldfield at his best, the music is accessably, very thought provoking and very polished. Yes there are some reminders of TBs but that not a bad thing. I like the concept of the album and totaly agree with what he says in the interview, good music is more than music, it's an emotional experience. Get it now it's that good and also wizz over to ITunes and download the live version it's worth the effort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Stunning, 29 Feb. 2008
This review is from: The Blue Jukebox (Audio CD)
Conjure up a vision of a small smokey bar hidden down some forgotten side street, the music comes from a band hidden in a dark shadow in the corner of the room. Ok keep that thought, now put Blue Jukebox in the CD Player slip on the headphones and relax in a comfortable chair and enjoy. This is about as good as music gets, Chris and the boys know what their doing the playing is superb particulary the sax which adds that world weary atmosphere. Add it to your shopping basket now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Genius, 13 Feb. 2008
The mans gone and done it again, a brilliant concept and well excuited, this album is a must for all music fans. Mr Rea should be praised for the packageing and general presentation, it takes me back to the old days of album buying when we bought sometimes LP's on the strenth of the album cover (remember Roger Dean's covers). The great thing about this production is that it not only looks good it sound good, no no no, not just good, Brilliant!.

If you like good music don't waste any more time reading my waffling, Order It Now.
