3.0 out of 5 stars Underwhelming. Tom Ellis fan but just too camp!, 6 Feb. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Lucifer: Season 1 (Amazon Video)
A bit underwhelmed. Huge Miranda fan and love Tom Ellis but why does he have to be soooo camp in this?! I get he's meant to be cheeky but he's like a gay BFF and found it hard to take seriously. Not really sure it deserves all these high ratings personally

The Monogram Murders (Hercule Poirot Mystery 1)
The Monogram Murders (Hercule Poirot Mystery 1)

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent book but ultimately disappointing., 12 July 2015
I am a Sophie Hannah fan but for Poirot obsessives like myself unfortunately this is much more a Sophie Hannah book than an Agatha Christie one. It makes you appreciate how great a writer Christie really was. The plot was almost too convoluted and relied on too many red herrings. The dialogue was Poirot-esque and the first person narrative were reminiscent of Christie but I'm afraid I couldn't warm or like her version of Poirot so it was ultimately disappointing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unsympathetic hero, characters I didn't care about, 23 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a slow, ponderous book and whilst it evokes Japan very well, it's ultimately let down by characters I don't engage with or care about and more importantly a hero who is neither a true hero or true anti-hero, just someone highly selfish and so irritating it's beyond me why so many women found him attractive. Shame because the theme of the story, American's view of their guilt or not over their treatment of Japan is interesting.

3.0 out of 5 stars It does the job but it's not a great piece of kit, 23 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I read many reviews before deciding to buy this. My conclusion is that there just aren't that many really great baby monitors out there. This does the job we wanted it to, which is to monitor the baby and pick up the sounds so we can go around the house and the garden and still hear him. However, the temperature gauge on the main unit isn't accurate, consistently 1-2 degrees higher than the other thermometer (the one we bought when we realised the temperature gauge on here wasn't very good) we have. The other mobile unit also takes forever to charge fully and then loses its charge very quickly, so it ends up almost not being that 'mobile' because you need it on its charger a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for first time breastfeeding mummies, 23 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'd absolutely recommend this for all breastfeeding mummies, it's like Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream for nipples. Despite what every book says when a baby first latches and is on your breast for several hours, your nipples WILL feel sore. But with this, it went away after a few days. Totally recommend

4.0 out of 5 stars Found this invaluable for early labour, 23 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I wasn't sure about having a TENS machine but after a few friends said it was useful I decided to get one and found it invaluable in early labour just to 'distract' from the pain especially as it got more painful. One note is that I did use it so much that after delivery I developed a rash where the stickers had been, probably a reaction to it being on my skin for such a long time and getting irritated. But would definitely recommend for anyone who's worried about the pain of childbirth

1.0 out of 5 stars Good idea and stylish design but not functional, 22 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This bottle is a good idea but since you have to suck at the filter to get the water, it very quickly becomes unpleasant as its just a repository of your saliva. Then, it can't be put in the dishwasher to clean out so you need to try to clean this manually but it never seems to get that clean and fresh feeling. We used it a few times but it got too manky and it's now in the bin. Waste of money.

We have had these for barely 3 months and not only are they crackling but the microphone has stopped working. Not worth it at all!

2.0 out of 5 stars Read this as a fan of Mr Whicher but disappointing, 24 Dec. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
You can get more or less the content of this book from the first chapter or even a review of this book, the rest of it is just padding the basic story out. Mrs Robinson is neither engaging or sympathy arousing and I found the book a real trudge to get through...I didn't make it to the end.
