by Peter Reid
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars A marvellous book, 9 Jan. 2014
What an amazing book containing details of so many interesting houses - many that are quite unknown but very interesting. It is a must have for anyone interested in old houses. Where is volume 1 about Gloucestershire?

This book is beautifuuly written and beautifully presented with lovely photos from the Country Life archive. It has been well researched and an essential read for lovers of Cotswold stone houses.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bigger print, 24 Dec. 2011
The book looks fascinating but the problem is with the design. The type face chosen is too small to read. All of my friends who bought this book have said the same. This book lies infuriating unread because of the small typeface. It is not an attractive book to look at, given that it is a fascinating subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely book, 16 Aug. 2010
A beautifully produced book with evocative photographs in black and white of an almost vanished era, well captured and enhanced with interviews with the farmers. A wonderful picture of farming life in the South Hams.
