Great read for gamblers and non gamblers alike, 22 July 2011
I have long since been fascinated with everything to do with gambling: the industry, the psychology, the excitement and even the inevitable bouts of dispair. This book covers all of them in a light hearted fashion.
The author gambles his way across Australia only returning home briefly before setting off on another adventure to the US. Those who gamble will really be able to relate to the ups and downs experienced by Hawkins along the way. For the non gamblers the book offers an incredibly balanced insight into the gaming and betting world. As you would expect, Hawkins encounters some colourful characters along the way and the book is stuffed with hilarious anecdotes from his travels.
A brilliantly written account of a journey of a lifetime, I can't recommend it highly enough.
