This is a brilliantly researched book. It would be of particular interest to medical professionals interested in ethics and would prompt a review of disaster management in their own places of work. How would any of us respond to such an appalling situation?

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for everyone, 15 Jun 2012

I purchased this book for my grandaughter to give her as an introduction to her 8th birthday present. This was a trip to London to see Matilda the musical so I appreciated that it was linked to the show. She loves reading Roald Dahl but Dad wanted to read it to her as he enjoyed it so much. The show was amazing, and like the book, addresses a lot of dark issues that can affect children and they really identify with both the book and the film.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, 19 Aug 2010
Bought for when the grandchildren stayed, and to test out our new DVD player! A success on both fronts but the bonus was a highly enjoyable film for us too. It's one of those films that are so cleverly written that you can perceive them on two levels so suits all ages. It has all the ingredients of a good story with scary bits, a happy ending and a strong moral message.

5.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't disappoint, 9 May 2009
I wanted to start growing some vegetables but have a very small plot. I have always liked Jamie Oliver's recipes and respect his ethos around food so hoped this book would fit the bill. I am writing this as the first shoots of my endeavour are appearing so that speaks for itself. It offers comprehensive, easy to follow advice for the novice gardener supported by mouthwatering and healthy recipes. A beautifully presented book which will become a classic and fun to dip into as the seasons unfold. I've jumped the gun a bit already by cooking summer's caesar salad which was a hit with my son who incidentally is a chef!
