5.0 out of 5 stars laugh out loud fun, 9 Nov. 2010
This, and the sequel, Three Men on the Bummel, were the funniest books I've read in ages. And whilst the characters bumble from one disaster to another, the character observation along the way is brilliant. None of the characters are particularly likeable but neither are they so awful you would want to see anything terrible happen to them. It's all very innocent and I would definitely recommend the 2nd book to everyone who reads the first - I think it's even funnier and it certainly made me laugh out loud several times.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as witty as she'd have you believe....., 10 Aug. 2010
Starts well - apparently witty overview of the upper classes of society at the time but quickly becomes very repetitive and characeters too far fetched - often felt that the author was trying desprately hard to be amusing and to impress the reader with her sharp tongue but it got a bit wearing. Nice short read, nothing too taxing but not engaging either - the group of us who readit for book club were all a bit disappointed - didn't quite live up to expectations.

4.0 out of 5 stars eerily addictive...., 14 May 2010
This review is from: In a Perfect World (Paperback)
Not necessarily great literature but great idea and totally addictive - had to find out what happened - absolute page turner - and with a bit of imagination, pretty believeable.
A quick read that keeps you gripped - with more than a nod to "chick-lit" with the slightly corny romance but not all is as rosy as it seems.
