The Rum Diary (Bloomsbury Classic Reads)
The Rum Diary (Bloomsbury Classic Reads)
by Hunter S. Thompson
Edition: Paperback
Price: 6.29

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good read, 9 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Obviously this book is not a cult classic like Fear and Loathing, but it does have a really good sense of pace and character even if the plot doesn't seem to go anywhere. Its hard to explain what you think at the end but I felt it was worth the read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and Tacky, 9 Dec 2013

If memory serves this was not a good buy. Someone has taken the effort to stencil a good image on a poor quality t-shirt with poor quality ink.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ventura for President 2016, 9 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Jesse is a good character and this book does not disappoint. It is a bit of a toilet read but the best ones usually are. It is surprising that most people don't take the slightest interest in this stuff. Even if it is all fictitious, its still interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars The very best of the Hitchslap, 9 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Cameron Delusion (Paperback)
I first cottoned onto the journalism of Hitchens from Question Time. His article in the Mail on Sunday is always the common sense perspective and this book does not disappoint on that front. You may not agree with it all but in general he speaks the truth.

I don't usually read bio's. I would advise anyone to have a read of this. A good life story and the even better story of the rise of UKIP.

Always worth checking out the latest release from the Gervais empire. I think he has released Karl back to the wild as Ricky is not in this series. Definitely worth purchasing.

This is a definite must if you feel the British education system has deprived you of a sober account of the British Empire.
