5.0 out of 5 stars A Fascinating Insight into the Minds of Football 'Hooligans', 14 Sep 2005
I bought the book having recently aquired 'Red Army General', and was not disapointed with the sequal. To delve into the inner sanctum of organised football 'warriors' and taste the adrenalin, fear (though not admitted) and planned battle field strategy sets these people apart from common criminals.
It was also intriguing to have an alternative inside story of 'Operation Mars', and the resulting Crown Court trial. Excellent reading and would sell well if published in Italian (being a resident). Remove the 'blinkers'and you will not put it down.

Fellow readers will experience the adrenaline rush, the fear (though not admitted by the author),and the logistical and organisational skills of the 'pack' leaders and lieutenants. You can almost justify the need for what may appear, ordinary citizens during the week, taking part in the arranged battles with rival 'supporters', perhaps substituting for the lack of this level of confrontation required by , and inborn into most Anglo-Saxon males caused through the end of National Service and recent peaceful decades.
