Strange...though quite funny.., 6 July 2011
Strange book, it will probably offend a few people but it is funny in places. If you are as the title says then you may enjoy it...

Twilight style sci-fi teen thriller, 6 July 2011
I got this book and didn't really read it first. I was quite glad though as it turned out to be quite like a Twilight novel but with a sci-fi edge to it. The book is about a girl who wakes up in the back of her mum's car and then turns up at her house but has no recollection of the house, her dad or the school she is going to. It goes on from there with her trying to work out why she is in different time and what seems like a different dimension. It will be interesting to see how the next book goes. Recommended for anyone who likes the twilight type books.

Better than the first book, 6 July 2011
I started this after finishing the first book a couple of months ago. When I started it I remembered how poor the first book had been but i persisted and it did get a lot better as the book went on. It brings in a couple more characters from the first book and integrates them quite well. It also starts to explain some things which needed explaining from the first book. I would say bare with it and it's worth it. You have to read the first book first for it to make any sense.

Pleasantly surprised, 4 May 2011
Really quite impressed with this e-book. It definitely starts off differently to other vampire books that I have read recently. I did like the way the story was told at the beginning and how it described two's problems and the dilema she was in. I would highly recommend this and especially as it was free..

Same old zombie stuff..., 30 Mar 2011
This book is typical of most of the other zombie books I have read recently. Nothing to recommend it, but nothing to particularly advise against it either. It's the usual zombie outbreak, end of the world, one guy(hero) try's to find a way out of the city etc. Easy read.

Strange zombie novel???, 30 Mar 2011
This is defo a zombie book with a difference. I tried to work out what had gone on and where the characters had ended up after the nuclear war. It didn't really confirm it anywhere in the book. Strange but readable.

3 and a half stars..., 17 Jan 2011
I was looking forward to reading this due to the good reviews and the film that is out shortly. I read it on the Kindle and at times did think it was going on a bit. The book seemed to drag at times but then speed up so you couldn't put it down. Occasionally, because the book was based in Sweden the characters names got confusing but overall the idea of the book was a refreshing change compared to all the teen Vampire stories around at the moment. Not quite a 4 stars due to the way it dragged on occasionally but definetly worth reading. I'm sure the film sill be quite scary if it follows the book.

Vampire story with a twist?, 27 Dec 2010
Just finished Once Bitten last night and really enjoyed it. Plus only costing 72p on the Kindle made it great value as well. The story revolves around Jamie who is a Psychologist for the LAPD and has to test a young girl to see if she is sane or not after finding her over a dead body with blood over her face. The problem starts when Jamie finds out she may be older than what she says... Very good book and the first one of Stephen Leather's that I have read. I have also just downloaded The Basement to the Kindle so hopefully that is just as good. Recommended.

Good to see zombies in the UK for a change!!!, 26 Dec 2010
Though I read the cover I was quite suprised to see the whole of the book focused around one small village in the UK. I thought it may have started there and then moved to the inner cities or America (usually). The main thing that I liked about the book was the story was as much about the behaviour of the rest of the villagers as it was the zombies. It is very believable to see this happening in a such a crisis. The bad guys in this book are far worse than the zombies and I found myself wanting these guys eaten more than I wanted the good guys getting away.

On par with the first one, 26 Dec 2010
After reading the first book Dead City this book didn't come as a surprise to find it a decent read. In the first book it was mainly about one main character where this one centres around numerous groups who are all trying to get to the same zombie free place. It wasn't as fast paced as Dead City but I did find it more interesting having different groups of characters to focus on. Another 3 stars for Joe McKinney.
