Bluecol Screenwash 1L

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for cold winters, 14 Feb 2013

This review is from: Bluecol Screenwash 1L (Automotive)
I have found that this product stays liquid at very low temperatures if the instructions are followed, unlike pre-mixed products from a well know car maintenance and bike superstore.

Easier to mix if you have an empty 5 litre plastic can to mix yourself.

I live a softwater area so no issues with deposits or smears, perhaps hardwater caused the problems mentioned by the other reviewer.

Eitherway a few smears is a small price to pay for screen wash which works at very low temperatures.

I purchased 6 of these lamps to replace 50W Halogen bulbs. Upon delivery one was faulty (probably due to the packaging not protecting it), but Amazon replaced it within 24 hours, so no major issues.

The performance is amazing - a lot brighter than I expected. However, the 3000K colour is very white in my opinion, but fine for a kitchen.

I have noticed an error in the product specification, the spec. says 120 degree viewing angle, whereas the box on the product delivered states 90 degrees! Not a mjaor problem for me, but disappointing that the spec. is not accurate.

Overall would recommend, unless you need a wide viewing angle or a warmer white (2700K or less).

4.0 out of 5 stars Interpet Fish Pod 64 Litre Tropical Fish Tank, 14 Sep 2012
I purchased this tank as a package with a flat pack stand, re. just the tank, the description is slightly misleading in that the filter is not "built in", it is a Interpet PF2 internal filter. The Heater/Thermostat is a conventional glass tube type. The plus points are:
no corner frame on the two front corners (glass is curved around front and sides)
ready to set up (aside from gravel, plants etc)
more stylish than many other tanks
Integral lights (1 daylight and 1 blue night light)

Downsides (some specific to me)
The interpet heater/thermostat has condensation in it (will be replacing under warranty)
Lid hinge needs a fair amount of clearance if you want to totally open the lid, rather than just open the feeding flap
The plastic floor of the tank was slightly warped, rather than replace the tank I purchased a foam mat and cut it to size to fully support the base (otherwise you risk a leak)
Replacement lamps are expensive (just search for interpet daylight 15w lamp)
Would be nice to include an undergravel filter too to assist biological filtration

Other considerations
If you are new to fishkeeping, set the tank up (with plants) for at least 1 week and only gradually introduce fish (Google the issues with Ammonia in a new tank until the biological filtration starts to work)
Would recommend buying API's water test kit to monitor Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates and pH

2.0 out of 5 stars TomTom 740 (540 and 940 too) Hard Case - Genuine TomTom Item, 25 Oct 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased this hard case for my TomTom 740 as it is a perfect fit and much better than the old zip up type I had for my 720 TomTom. I agree with other reviews that the old Zip up case (i.e. 720 model) was of poor quality and the zip broke after a few months use.

Re. the Hard case, mine is just over 12 months old and has had regular (daily) use, it is now ready for the bin, the grey lining has started to break up, down the internal line of the hinge and the hinge has become slack and sloppy (upon examination one of the spring steel clips has sheared due to metal fatigue. Will buy a replacement at £9.99 from Amazon, but the quality is "Average" at best.......................

For those of you who only use your SatNav once or twice a week I am sure the case will last a couple of years!!!!

One big plus is the external case is very hard wearing and thus protects the device from most damage.

2.0 out of 5 stars Logitech X-240 Speakers, 8 Mar 2010
I purchased these speakers to have some dual purpose, mid-range 2.1 speakers for use with both my IPOD and PC.

The IPOD dock does not exist, just uses the Audio / Headphone Jack with a very poor quality plastic clip type stand, this alone I could forgive if the speakers were top quality, unfortunately they are not.......

The speakers themselves look modern, but the wiring to them is not shielded, meaning lots of RF interference. An example being I can pick up Russian / Eastern European radio from them and I live in the West Midlands. This is due to the speaker cables acting as Aerials, the problem has been reduced by fitting some clip on Ferrites purchased from Maplin, but this has only eliminated the Russian Radio interference not other general RF interference.

Overall OK, if you want some fairly cheep speakers, but to reduce RF interference, place the speaker cables well away from mains power cables / appliance leads.Logitech X-240 Speakers (2.1)

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy a TomTom Go Case, 12 Feb 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have purchased two of these cases, both seem OK for the first 2 or 3 months then the zip either breaks (due to the use of a very cheap zip) or the zip clasp opens and the part you pull drops off.

Eitherway the worst quality product I have ever purchased (unlike the TomTom machine itself which is excellent).

I would opt for a Leather case or a non-genuine one, can not be any worse and will be loads cheaper!TomTom GO - Carry Case & Strap

Panasonic DMR-EX78EB-K Freeview+ 250GB HDD DVD Recorder - Black

5.0 out of 5 stars Panasonic DMR-EX78 250GB HDD / DVD Recorder, 20 Dec 2008

Panasonic DMR-EX78EB-K Freeview+ 250GB HDD DVD Recorder - Black

I purchased this Recorder off AMAZON and I have been very impressed with it. To get the best recording quality use the highest setting (XP), which equates to about 55 hours of capacity. Whilst you can play most DIVX's films from USB stick certain sticks / films are not supported. You can not transfer files from the HDD to the USB, just play them.

Again to benefit from the best quality I would suggest using a HDMI lead (not included) rather than the standard AV cable included in the box.

Please bear in mind this player only has a Digital Tuner, so you need a good digital signal to use the player. I do not see this as a problem, as Analogue TV is being switched off over the next 2 / 3 years in most areas.

I have not experienced a noisy fan, although there is a cooling fan attached to the back of the unit (i.e. it is not flush with the case).

Set-up is very easy and I like the Menu's, it takes a while to get used to the functions from the remote, so I would suggest keeping the manual to hand - which is generally very informative.

I also ordered some panasonic DVD RAM discs, as they are re-writable, but if you just want to back up programmes recorded to the Hard Drive cheaper DVD R discs will suffice.

To benefit from the upscalling of DVD's you will need (ideally) a 1080p TV or a HD ready set if you do not have a 1080p TV.

Only minor negatives are:
Takes sometime to switch on after pressing the "on" button
Only a single digital tuner, but if you have digital TV not a problem

Hope this review helps!
