1.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS SOOOOOOO BAD, ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY, 13 Jun. 2006
i cannot believe that noone gave this album 1 star, because thats all it deserves, if i was allowed to rate it no stars i would, its simply terrible, actually, worse than the massacre, if you want a good snoop dogg album get doggystyle, because that is waaaaaayyyy better than this, first, the rapping is lazy on this, the lyrics are awful, with no multi syllable rhyming schemes, and no subject matter, all the beats are complete popcorn, but you would expect that from the neptunes, all the guest artists on this album are even worse than snoop dogg himself, nelly, 50 cent and lil john, i dont know how anyone thought this was good, the only person i know who likes this is a girl who knows nothing about rap, she said that this album got 'her and her mum in to rap', but, as i said, she knows nothing about rap, she has never heard of wu tang clan, canibus, or big L, is my point proven?, i know for a fact the reason she likes it is because it has lots of love songs on it, all of which are completely terrible next time i speak to her i will try and explain why this is rubbish, anyway, dont buy this, it is rubbish, worse than the massacre, but if you like the massacre, you will probably like this better.

1.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS SOOOOO BAD, 11 Jun. 2006
young jeezy is yet another rapper ruining hip hop, all he ever talks about is cars, money, women and killing people, he probably has never killed anyone, he probably doesnt have a girlfriend because he is such an idiot, he boasts about cars, well, where did he get the money from?, he is an awful lyricist, has an annoying voice, this album has watered down beats, everything about it sums up what rap has now become, before we had great, intelligent rappers such as tupac, biggie, nas, wu tang clan, and eminems older stuff, but now we just have this fool, who tries to look hard on the album cover but is laughable dont buy it, buy illmatic, ready to die, the marshall mathers LP, or me against the world instead

5.0 out of 5 stars TRUELY REVOLUTIONARY, 10 Jun. 2006
This review is from: Revolutionary Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
this album is so good, its hard to put it in to words how good it is, immortal technique is an incredible lyricist, he has an amazing vocabulary, has a great voice, and great delivery, he is one of the most intelligent rappers in the game, he knows so much about the american government system, its unbelievable, it is actually educational listening to him, he reveals things that you may never have known had he not revealed them, when he is not rapping about politics, he is doing devastatingly good battle raps, immortal technique spits quite possibly the best punchlines you will have heard by any rapper(apart from big l, he just about beats immortal technique), even though it is underground, the production of this is actually very good, it suits the mood of the songs, and is easy to listen to, not only does he deliver political and battle rap songs, he is an incredible storyteller, as proved on you never know, which is a very sad love story, i strongly recommend this, it is one of the best rap albums ever made, and even though people on this site overrate immortal technique calling him the best rapper ever, he is well on his way to becoming it, get his first album too, revolutionary volume 1, its brilliant, though not as good as this

5.0 out of 5 stars GZA REALLY IS A GENIUS- CLASSIC, 3 Jun. 2006
This review is from: Liquid Swords (Audio CD)
this is one of the best rap albums ever made, and ranks up there with the likes of illmatic, ready to die, and reasonable doubt, all of this album is produced by RZA, and he does a fantastic job, the production is all dark, grimy, with lots of martial art movie samples thrown in, its suits the mood of the album, the lyrics are some of the best ever written, with gzas amazing metaphors, similes, and double meanings, gza has one of those voices that are unique, noone could imitate gzas voice, his delivery and timing are perfect, the albums subject matter is dark but very interesting, gza raps about the sadness and endless cycle of violence in his environment, he tells stories of shootings and stabbings and how he wishes it would stop and gives a vivid picture of the new york he grew up in, when he is not rapping about this he delivers devastating battle raps, using, as i said earlier in the review, unbelievable metaphors, similes, and punchlines, this is arguably the best wu-tang album, along with only built 4 cuban linx, and 36 chambers, and i urge you to get this if you are a hip hop fan, and if you are a wu tang fan, it is essential, if you are a fan of crap hip hop, like lil john, T.I., chingy, etc. you probably wouldnt like this, as it is not overcommercialized rubbish, with radio-friendly beats, this is definitely in my top 5 rap albums ever, and maybe the best, get it, because if you dont, you are missing out on a brilliant album

now, even though now snoop dogg is just another average rapper, is 93 he was the man, this album is a classic in every sense of the word, first off, the production is simply amazing, perhaps the best production on an indivual album of all time, all the beats are melodic g-funk, and every beat just makes you want to dance, thats whats so great about doggystyle, its so funky. snoops butter smooth flow and unbelievable wordplay is immacualte, this album also has extremely catchy choruses, and athough the lyrics may not be deep or meaningful, they are very catchy, and snoop actually has quite a good vocabulary on this, overall, this is a classic, and one of the best rap albums ever, if you dont have it, then you cant call yourself a hip hop head, peace

after reading reviews of this album it suddenly hit me that people in this country know nothing about the hip hop genre(well, most anyway) seriously, after seeing all these 4 and 5 star reviews, and only one 1 star review, i felt i had to get some things clear, first off, this album sucks, the beats are ok, nothing special, not too bad, but the lyrics rank as some of the worst rap lyrics ever written, half of the album is contributed to dissing 50 cent, who is not much better than ja rule, a quater of it is 'thug' love songs, and a quater is gangster songs, half of the words on this dont even rhyme, ja rule doesnt have a good vocabulary, he has no flow, and he has a really annoying gruff voice, which makes him hard to understand, only teenyboppers like this guy, and most people now consider him r and b, he is a joke rapper, which he has to face, thank god he is giving up rapping, thats one less wack rapper in the game, SUPPORT REAL HIP HOP FOR LIFE!

after jay z had dropped reasonable doubt, a classic in every sense, and in my lifetime, a very underrated good album,it seemed he had fallen off, he dropped hard knock life vol, 2, which lost major points for having a guest appearance on every song, and the terrible(and i hate to say it) vol.3, jay z obviously took a long look at his mistakes, and made 1 hell of an album, this is album is a(as is the title) a blueprint for modern rap, jay z hired some brilliant producers for this, such as just blaze, the then unknown kanye west(this album made him the most wanted producer aside dr dre) and timbaland, and is lyrically excellent on it too, this album is extremely complete, as in, jay z is not afraid to show his soul to the world, and he raps about a variety of different things, the mood of this album is very soulful, and has beautiful samples on it, and, as i said before, the lyrics are brilliant, and after listening to this, you actually realize the lack of realy lyricism in alot of modern(commercial) rap, the album kicks off with the rulers back, the title is very self explanatory, jay z spits nice lyrics over nice production, the producer of this uses trumpets very nicely, the takeover comes next, arguably the best song on the album, which is a lyrical bashing of nas and mobb deep, nice doors sample, and jigga really comes ferocious on this, next is a track everyone knows, the radio hit h to the izzo, even though it is a radio hit its still a very good song, jay z basically talking about the struggles of hustling, next up is girls girls girls, another radio hit, and a very funny description of all jay zs girls, not my favourite track, but still worth a listen, after that its jigga that nigga, a track designed to get the club bouncing, very good timbaland beat, jay z has some very nice punchlines, and flows well, next is u dont know, a classic track, great just blaze beat, one of his best, and jay z comes hard rapping about his environment, and some very clever verses about, well, hustling, next is hola hovito, another radio track, very good timbaland beat, jay z basically adressing haters, next is the brilliant heart of the city, very good uses of samples, and jay z adresses haters on this, and pays tributes to some of his influences, never change is next, a great song basically about the struggles of hustling and crew loyalty, brilliant sample, yet another great track, song cry is a classic love song, apparently about a real life ex girlfriend, jay z is very personal on this, next is all i need, a good song repping the rocafella click, not my fav, but listenable, renegade, is arguably the best song on the album, jay z is lyrically at his best, and eminem is very good on it too, jay z spits very intelligent and introspective lyrics about the ghetto, and the stuggles of the ghetto, next is blueprint(momma loves me)jay z paying tribute to all the people who helped him in life, familiy and friends, overalll this album is terrific, order it now

This review is from: Warning Shots (Audio CD)
this is by far the best mixtape ever, no doubt about it, this album uses original beats, and the production is brilliant, saigon is a brilliant lyricist, he raps about a wide range of subject matters, such as politics, dissing rappers who are not real, asking girls with men in jail if theyd stick by them, and gangster songs, all the songs are very catchy, but at the same time not pop, saigon has a terrific multisyllable rhyming scheme, he has a great delivery, and if you are a rap fan reading this, and think rap is dying out, buy this, its amazing, and proves that true rap still exist, a modern and extremely underrated classic

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Lyricist, 8 May 2006
oh my god, i cannot believe only 3 people have reviewed this, its amazing!, big pun was one of the best lyricists ever, he had an unbelievably fast flow, and was, as i said, a great lyricist, this album has dark beats, and all the tracks are bangers, with puns flow matching them, some people may disagree with me, but i believe that big pun would have been better than biggie, had he made more than 1 album, and he could have been the best ever, he raps about a range of different things, he does storytelling, political, battle raps(his forte) and love songs, all of which he does brilliantly, he was a genius, and should not been forgotten, big pun, along with big L, is very underrated, especially in the UK, now i have capital punishment, i will be spreading the word about his greatness, if you buy it, you will also be amazed

4.0 out of 5 stars DONT HATE, ITS ACTUALLY QUITE GOOD, 24 April 2006
This review is from: Get Rich Or Die Tryin' (Audio CD)
even though this does have some 1 star reviews, dont get it wrong, by todays standards, this is a very good rap album, even though 50 cent isnt a particularly good lyricist, the beats on here are all very good, 50 cent does have his moments, some good wordplay and emotional lyrics, he also has some pain in his voice which makes his voice better, and he doesnt try and stretch the boundaries, this album could be played all the way through in partys, and everyone would bounce to every song, and yes, it is almost completely filled with drugs, violence, sex, drive by shootings, etc, look beyond that and see it is actually very good, and im no teenybopper, i like alot of underground rappers, and good commercial rappers, and i own 100 rap albums, so, believe me, this is good,
