A rip-roaring burst of raw blues, 5 Aug. 2003
This album has a quality which is so raw and earthy that you can almost believe that The Black Keys' are playing live for you in your room. You can almost smell the wood of the guitar, feel the heat of the amplifyer, smell the cigarette smoke, and the sweat of band memebrs Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney as they rip their way through the album. It makes you wonder why all music doesn't sound this good. But why should it!? It doesn't have to! This is the only music you will ever want to listen to from now on.
The White Stripes could never sound like this, not in red and white, as they are. To be this good, you definitely need to be BLACK - 'The Black Keys'. Excellent.
