If the group were nobodies and they had a different name Im sure more people would have taken more notice, its one of those things almost a fact of life. I liked this groups rock output from the start, a lot of people could only visulise them as a pop group, Sweet never really made a complete cross over to the rock world, and its a crying shame.. all you need to do is get a pop single by the Sweet and play the B side . every song they wrote themselves was hard rock, here we get the album version classic it is..

5.0 out of 5 stars The Master..., 4 Oct. 2008
This review is from: Original Album Classics (Audio CD)
A lot has been written about Mr Beck over the years and with respect it has all been good.. no one seems to have a bad word to say about this guy.. His history is obviously rich and varied but it starts with a band called the Tridents he joined in 63,he once said `our music was a wide open sea of emptiness where I could do as I wanted` so mastering guitar techniques of his idol Les Paul, Jeff had room to expand his sound. then we get Eric Clapton leaving the Yardbirds and Jimmy Page being approached about the vacancy, Page declines and suggests Beck. only with the band for 20 months guitar fuelled rock was becoming their trademark.1966, Beck leaves. joining Moon,Page, and J.P.Jones the (band) cut Becks bolero a B side of Jeff`s solo hit single `hi ho silver lining`one of his few ventures as a vocalist, 67 Jeff bumps into Rod Stewart and the Jeff Beck group was born, it was too good to last the group split on the eve of their biggest ever gig Woodstock.. next we have a car crash which holds back Jeff and stops the formation of Beck Bogert & Appice for a few years the other two guys from Vanilla Fudge form Cactus instead.. However Beck jumps back and the power trio is formed a good studio album is cut ,the best part of this group was the LIVE gigs, totally amazing and a live album did surface from a Japanese tour.a blinder.. Beck then passes the offer to join the Rolling stones and instead puts out an instrumental album Blow by Blow` followed by Wired, then Live with Jan Hammer,we get more albums where you can find Jeff, never wanting to be pigeon holed into any real style and always changing and on the move, Jeff Beck recently played a gig in the UK , and a big amount of the audience were fellow guitarists and musicians.. He is the guitarists ,guitarist..this five album original classics is a fantastic place to start ones collection and the low price is something to be taken advantage of..

Tony McPhee guitarist, vocalist, writer, producer, engineer, keyboard player. He can do almost anything when it comes to putting out a Groundhogs album, here remastered are two at times softer almost pop rock productions, the sharp edge is still glistening but one eye seems to be mellow. these are still terrific rock records but the foot on the gas has been ever so slightly lifted..

The Groundhogs, Live 1971 special guests of the Rolling Stones, its true this trio rocked and for a CD to have only five tracks you know ( dont you!) that we get a rip roaring guitar fest. Tony McPhee is another overlooked superb guitarist.. great stuff

5.0 out of 5 stars Complex and rewarding, 29 Sept. 2008
Here we have Kate in charge of her own destiny and lock herself away in the dark corners of her mind she takes us, holding your hand as she guides you through the dark passages , her little flash light illuminating open wounds.her whole project was to come up with the perfect writing of the moment. I think she rose to the challenge, there are a few lighter reflections that lift one from the gloom. her voice is powerful and rich, the extra overdubs add colour and deepth its overlooked and a shame. a fantastic record and Miss Bush was only playing with us!!

This group were big in the netherlands as a pop group ,all the guys were dutch and were house hold names. I have no interest in their early days but can promise you that a brilliant rock group they became. only buy this if you want to know why the pop was double dutch.

Three man army, Gun, Baker Gurvitz army, all big noises in the seventies and all featuring Adrian and Paul Gurvitz. these two brothers did everything they could think of to play their music to the masses, no matter who they played with or where, record contracts were signed and promises were made..but the boys never climbed to the dizzy heights of the popular artists league. if you had witnessed these guys playing their powerful rock music it wouldnt have gone by unnoticed .the groups that have been this good and not made it are everywhere as we all know. my problem is I could mention quite a few that did ,and shouldnt have.

4.0 out of 5 stars I know lets release a live album ( again )., 28 Sept. 2008
What is going on I ask my self because including two unplugged albums this group have released `SIX` live albums , some record companys when there is no new studio music to push do the live album, so why six have popped up is a mystery. this was a single LP and a great snippet from a classic rock concert

Weird one this it came out after the Brilliant ` Live ` double album. and it took me some time to get into, it wasnt what I wanted or what I was expecting. this is the group moving slightly away from their rock roots and writing more radio friendly poprock material,US market might have had something to do with it.! we get a good album which has its moments, they have done better.
