5.0 out of 5 stars A great ball for toddlers, 29 May 2014

This review is from: Scrunch Ball (Purple) (Toy)
It's very bouncy, and very light, so it can be easily kicked by little feet. It's also very soft, so it can be picked up by one hand, even a little hand at that. It comes with a spare plastic insertion should you need it.

It's a lot like one of those gym balls, but the size of a football.

These are very good at keeping drawings up on the fridge, they can be a bit of an effort to prise apart though, and to get off the fridge.

I find the best way to get them apart is to slide them off, ditto with the fridge - slide them off the end of the fridge and you can grab them easily.

Note the size in the description - they are very tiny and probably more so than expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best cover I've found so far, 29 May 2014

This is very much a premium case, the build quality is very good.

As noted, it's a two-part case, a softish inner case and a harder shell that wraps around the case. The fit is very good, and as such it's not something you want to take on and off often. Something I've noted with other rubber type cases is that once the case is on the phone, in the very middle of the screen on the long side, it's very easy for the case to start coming away in general use, as it's furthers away from the corners. Not so with this case, the outer hard shell keeps this in place.

Access to the ports on the phone is easy, there is ample space to e.g. insert a headphone jack properly, the power connection and to get the S-Pen in and out.

The case does have a bit of a lip over the front of the phone, this is very good at keeping out dust from that little gap between the phone screen and phone body.

It doesn't interfere with NFC, and I've noted the same signal strength with or without the case on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just works, 29 May 2014

Just plug and play - but be aware of course that you will need an additional HDMI cable - e.g if you connect 3 devices, you will need 4 HDMI cables - one for each device and one to connect the switch to the output (TV etc.)

I have this running from a Sony DVD player and a Chromecast - it auto switches input to the device that is powered on last, e.g. as Chromecast is always on, when I turn on the DVD player it auto switches to that input source. When I turn off the DVD, it switches back to the Chromecast. Nice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great addition for smart devices, 29 May 2014

These work just as intended and look a bit nicer that the other 'generic' type NFC tags with no surface covering, although they're a bit more expensive,

As an example of what can be done, I have a tag in my home office to: turn on tethering, turn off personal email sync, turn down all volume controls, turn on bluetooth. I one next to my bedside to turn off mobile data, wifi etc. and I also have one in my car to turn on bluetooth, start the handsfree mode, turn up the screen brightness and turn on S-Voice.

A word of advice for Android users: don't bother with the Samsung TecTile App as it's very limited in what the app can actually set. I recommend using a combination of apps to get the best out of these - 'NFC Tasks' (free) to perform the reading and writing to the tags, and 'Tasker' (2.50) to drive the settings.

The way this works is you create a task in Tasker to performs things like turning on BT, WiFi etc and give that task a name. Then, use NFC Tools to write that task to the NFC Tag. This way, you can make adjustments to what your NFC tags do without having to re-write the tag all the time, as it's linked to the task name. It also means that the range of settings you can perform is much, much wider than what you could do with just the Samsung TecTiles App.

With the above apps these tags become very useful, but I could see how just using the Samsung app one would be very disappointed in the range of settings these can actually perform.

5.0 out of 5 stars Remarkable value, 5 Nov 2012

I was hunting around for a quality mouse, in the past always having gone with the MS or Logitech top of the line tech - which I can't complain about.

This time I wanted something with a configurable DPI setting (for use in Photoshop, rather than gaming), but didn't like the offerings from either of the above. I looked around other top brands (Razor Razer Mamba 2012 Elite Gaming Mouseetc.), which come with a 100+- price tag, then found this item.

Never bought a Perixx before, so unsure what to expect for this price. I can happily say the build quality is great - the mouse is solid, glides smoothly over my Cyber Sniper mouse pad (the mouse has very large friction pads), the buttons are solid and click firmly and the scroll wheels ticks with just the right amount of friction. The 'extra' buttons are placed in an easily reachable position - I actually might end up using them.

The bundled software (I got mine from the website rather than the included CD) is very easy to setup and allows all the mouse buttons to be configured, as well as scroll speed etc.

I especially like the addition of the mouse weights, wired mouse can be quite light so this is an added benefit.

I've been so impressed I've started looking at their other items, especially the drawing tablets - if the build quality is anywhere near as good as this, it will be a replacement for when it's time to upgrade my Wacom...

In summary, the price tag of this mouse belies it's features and quality - I'm happy to spend money on quality items, but this mouse is punching so far above it's weight there really is no need to spend more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin, 26 May 2011

Picked it up on Kindle and read it cover to cover without putting it down. A wealth of very useful information that gives real examples from content to technical items. It's very valuable as source of reference too, it will be staying on my Kindle indefinitely as I often flick over it to get into a 'stock frame of mind'. It was refreshing to find techniques using Photoshop Elements as well as CS.
