Very good - search is over, 8 Jan 2009
I rarely write a review but thought in this case I wanted to leave feedback for others as I struggled myself so much to find a recommended product without several problem reviews.
And after having read about all kinds of quality problems with other units I am very happy to have found the Logic3 as it works extremely well.
Sound quality - very good, just like an FM station with good reception! I have quite high standards for music quality and am totally happy with the sound quality. (There is a faint hiss between tracks but only audible when stationary with engine switched off, so does not impact music enjoyment whatsoever. Could be more of an issue with spoken word at higher volume levels but still minor compared to other problems reported with other devices).
Performance/ Reception - Found a frequency that was empty in the countryside no problem. I only realised when I got back into town and turned the device off that there was a partial signal of a pirate station on the frequency. In other words when the device was on it was easily enough to completely drown out the other signal (in North London).
Frequencies - full FM range, I believe higher ones (100 MHz and above) are stronger signal for short range so maximum quality.
Other - power for device from cig lighter. 2 other sockets - 1 for iPod, 1 for standard 3.5mm earphone socket (I am using the latter with Sony MP3 player). iPod one apparently can charge device too and this charging function can be switched on or off at will with a separate switch - but I have not tested this as don't have iPod)
Price - yes it is a little more expensive than some others but perhaps thats why it works so well
Overall - recommended. What a life-changer, no more buring CDs to put in the changer. Bliss...
