5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best, 19 Oct 2008
The Katie Melua Collection" is an overall compelling selection of Katie Melua's best songs so far.
Among others there are "What A Wonderful World", a great duet with the deceased singer
"Eva Cassidy" and naturally one of the most popular songs "Nine Million Bicycles"
The 17 track collection also includes three new songs.
The up-tempo track Two Bare Feet", which will be released on the 27th October as single,
the melancholic-poetic composition "Toy Collection" (which was written by Katie for the MySpace film `Faintheart') and the blues-song "Somewhere In The Same Hotel".
Unfortunately my favourite song "What I Miss About You", a result of a collaboration with Andrea McEwan is only seen on the DVD, which includes a 90 min. live show, filmed in Rotterdam during Katie's 2008 tour. On this tour Katie Melua was supported by Andrea McEwan, whose debut single "Candle In A Chatroom" was also released recently. (Have a look at it! It is recommended for all friends of "jazz-pop / folk"-music).
The DVD includes a very interesting video-blog "Behind the Screens", showing the preparation of the tour this year. (by B. M. Powell's "MelvilleB" & MichaelWSt)

Andrea is a bright new talent and given the right breaks she will go far.
I particularly like Candle in a Chatroom. Looking forward to a complete album.

This is brilliant. The remix is even better than the original album track.
I would recommend it to anyone in doubt.

Two beautiful voices blended to give a wonderful feel to Christmas. I charity offering which embodies all that is good about Xmas. How anyone could now part with this little gem takes some understanding. This single deserved and should have been the Christmas No.1

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely a winner, 4 Sep 2007
This review is from: Pictures (Audio CD)
In response to the biased reviewer who doesn't like Katie Melua I can assure you I have now heard all the tracks on Pictures. It is mainly upbeat and it is not what you normally expect from Miss Melua but it is definitely a winner. I just can't wait to receive my the CD on 1st October. I will be buying many more copies for my friends and family.

Very disappointed with this album. I quite enjoyed Put Your Records On. The rest of the tracks I not only found uninspiring but they were all fairly long and sounded so much the some that by the end I couldn't tell where one song ended and another began and I was very bored.

This is a single well worth buying for the video alone. Katie sings, as always, with a lot of feeling. Her cover of Cry Baby Cry short but once heard is hard to forget.
