4.0 out of 5 stars Classic HM, 8 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is good solid HM - as other reviewers states - we have rain, churchbells, a chainsaw (most wimpy chainsaw ever?) and every rock cliche in the book. Not much is either new or original here. But then again how much new and exciting stuff do you find in HM nowadays?
What still owns this CD 4 stars are the solid and wellplayed metal - There are not one song that I dislike. And there are a couple that I really do like. What could have moved this up to 5 stars would have been a little more originality - a bit more of their own sound.
So if you long for the Judas Priest CD we will never have - this is a fine way to fill the time while waiting.

Kettlebell RX: The Complete Guide for Athletes and Coaches
Kettlebell RX: The Complete Guide for Athletes and Coaches
by Jeff Martone
Edition: Paperback
Price: £20.89

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good technical book, 8 April 2014
This book got 4 stars from me for the follow reasons:
- IMO probably the best gook on the tachnical aspects of kettlebell training - every excersize is show in good clear pictures and tha most common errors are shown and there are specific correction drills for all these faults. So this is a book you can really learn from. Weather youre a beginner og a expeirinced athlete - this book can still teach you the correct and safest way.
- It only got 4 stars because this is a book limited in most parts to the kettlebell excersizes found in Crossfitt. No surprise - it actuallys says kettlebell lifting for Crossfitters somewhere on the cover - but still a lot of other kettlebell excersizes are not there. Also the croosfitt approach is very profound in the writing - in such a way that Jeff Martone states that other protocol as found in bodybuilding, powerlifting or olympic lifting are inferior. Depending on the goal they might be - my point is that I allways think it is limiting if someone is so in love with his own sport that he has to diss all the others. JMs thinking has most effect on the training programs - its not very clear when to move up from one weight to the next as it is stated several times that you should never train to exhaustion or failure. As the cornerstone in most strenghtsport is gradually working up to higher levels of strenght - I find this particular point somewhat lacking. Also - no of the physices presented here are very impressive - so as a motivational picture book look elsewhere.
SO what you have here is a wonderfull book on technique - that you probably will refer to many times while finetuning your kettlebell lifting - I know I will. On the other hand - just that; the many pages spend on correcting errors also makes it a little dull. So my advise is buy the book - but occasionally go other places for motivation.

The Lifestyle Business Rockstar!: Quit your 9 -5, kick ass, work less, and live more!
by Rasmus Lindgren
Edition: Paperback
Price: £9.95

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic inspiring read for those who want to take control of their life, time and income, 3 Feb 2014
Rasmus Lindgren has written a fantastic book about breaking free from the 9-5 wage slave life and taking control over your own life - your income, your time and your ability to go where you wants to go.
He sets up a triangle between these 3 factors - money, time and mobility - and makes a good case for the fact that most of us sell our time rather cheaply for money - thus robbing ourselves for both time for our selves or time with family and friends.
The bottomline is that as employees we will never get beyond selling our most priceless commodity (time) for money at a rather poor exchange rate. When (if) you reach pension age - your time, health and ability to enjoy life is allmost spend.

Then Rasmus goes on to point out what to do - start for yourself - but in contrast to most books on that subject - this author doesn't promote that groundbreaking one idea that will make you a millionaire (or not) - but rather points to start up one or several small business that can give you a revenue - not to make you a millionaire - but to fiance the lifestyle you want - with time for yourself and your loved ones.

The idea is supported by cases and different business models - many of them rather easy to start - both time- and money wise!
The book is a easy read. The ideas sound and easy to execute. The most hard one to swallow for most people is the shift in paradigm that you don't have to live like your parents or grandparents - but that you can have a much better life breaking new ground.
The book have inspired me very much and my plans for this year is to open up a business based on some of these ideas.
If a book actually gets you to do something - well it can't get any better than that!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and inspiring model book, 14 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Nordic Edge: Vol. 3 (Paperback)
Nordic Edge Vol 3 is a very nice and profesional model book. All subjects are WWII based and there is a good balance between allied and german subjects.
There are no aircraft and only a single diorama with a ship (well part of a ship) - so the focus is on vehicles, figures and dioramas. The scale is either 1/35 or 1/48.
The quality of the work presented is from high to excellent - only a single figure falls through (IMO).
Some of the works presented have lenghty text presenting the work process with some pictures of the different work stages and progress - others only shown the finished result and are more oriented at sheer inspiration - than how to do it. This also give a godd balance and thus avoids repetition.
All in all the book offers excellent value for money - you would have to buy 50 or so model magazines to have the same clear photos of really impressive work.
Excellent book for the serious modeller.

2.0 out of 5 stars good but not great, 10 Aug 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a good basic book about KB training.
Its starts out with the authours personal KB journey - then proceeds to show the different excersices in a recommended learning program - like "week one do this and this, week 2 try this and this, etc."
Last it holds different programs recommended for different sports.

The pros:
- good selection of exercises - more than in some other books I have read
- keypoints for every excercise
- most exercises are clearly explained/shown

The cons:
- some photos/explanations are not so clear that you don't need to go to Youtube to see the exercise
- some excercises are preformed as the authour have done/"invented" them - not in the "standard" way
- colour photos would have been great - time have run out on these grey-in-grey exercise books
- I miss a bit more scienetific explanation on how ballistic exercises differ from traditional weightlifting - and excatly what muscles are worked in which exercises.

All in all a good book - but leave you wanting abit more.

After I wrote the review - I have learned a lot more about kettlebell exercise and training - and thus realized just how wanting this book is - especially in the technique department. SO I'm sorry - I can't recommend this book -the cons as listed above are just too strong and the lack of emphasis on proper form and technique is too much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good classic metal, 25 Jun 2012

This review is from: Iron Will (Audio CD)
I can only agree witht the others - what we have here is metal at its best - some stoner riffs mixed with power-metal - really great.
The lyrics evolve around Nordic myths and gods and appears very powerfull and original.
The tempo varies between slow and heavy over to fast and powerfull. All songs have melodics tunes - powerfull expression and the vocal is good.

Really great!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good - but uneven and a bit too long, 14 Feb 2012
This review is from: Killer Elite [DVD] (DVD)
Several reviews allready tells the plot - so I'll skip that.

Pros: -
Statham and Clive Owen preforms well and makes the movies enjoyable to watch. De Niro is de Niro - it is like seing all his older films again rathert than a new movie.
The 80'ies setting is good - except for a few goofs.
The location changes - all over the world basicly - works well and are believeable.
There are some good action scenes - shooting, escape and fight - all doen well.
The plot is also rather good - but ...

Cons: -
The plot is rather good - but end somewhat lackluster - powerfull forces are operation behind the scenes - but in the end they tend to let go and disappear?
The movie is bloody long nearly 2 hours - and some cutting - say 20 - 30 minutes would have made a better paced story and lost some of the more uninteresting scenes.
De Niro is not at his best here - just looking like an older version of his earlier films - he is
of screen most of the movie and strangely in the scenes where he is actually there - you end up wish that they had been cut.
Too much moral - a lot of people living from killing suddenly tend to have trouble with just that - come on!

4.0 out of 5 stars Ok for the money, 26 July 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A very good and informative DVD.
On the good side - there are some really good fotage from the Normandy battlefield and the narrative is good.
On the not so good side - a lot of footage is seen before, some of the footage is repeated several times and some of the footage is not from Normandy.
Also some of the chronology is lost as the narrative jumps a bit back and forth - as I also would have appreciated some maps.
There are some now and then comparisions - but more would have been fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great and usefull book, 16 Feb 2011
This a great book for the serious diorama builder.

Most of the work is in 1/35 scale - but most of the ideas can be ajusted to other scales.
The reader are taken through the work on several different dioramas - from a wild autum forrest over a wellkept garden - to a ruined WWII city.
All in all very usefull and inspiring.

Henrik
