Awesome, 30 Watt Combo, 12 July 2010
I recently bought the Line 6 Spider IV 30 Watt Amp for local gigging.
I can't say that I have seen/heard another amp that has the spec this one has for the money.
It houses a celestion 12" speaker, has onboard digital effects, programmable 4 channels that are accessible from the front panel or can be switched through using a foot switch (not included).
a) Clean (2 types) b) Twang (2 types) c) Blues (2 types) d) Crunch (2 types) e) Metal (2 types) f) Insane (2 types). ALL Amp Models are capable of being customised and saved to one of 4 channels.
The onboard effects range from chorus/phaser, flanger, tremelo, delay, tape echo and another variant on tape echo, reverb and drive (gain).
It has a channel volume control and a master volume control.
Built in tuner and tap enter button for determining echo rate etc.
Main quarter inch jack for guitar.
Headphone socket (that cuts the main speaker off) this also doubles as a direct out.
Socket for plugging in an external mp3 player to jam along with.
I have used it in the studio and it was perfect, very quick to set up a custom guitar sound.
I have not yet used it live but so far so good, I am expecting it to perform better than the Fender or Frontline amps I have used in the past.
No more carrying around heavy foot-pedals (apart from the wah wah). Although one of the foot-pedals that can be bought separately has a built in expression pedal that also doubles up as a channel switch.
Overall I am impressed.
