5.0 out of 5 stars A gentle, moving story, 28 Feb 2014

A beautifully made film.
I particularly appreciated the visual style that set up the gentle pace of this touching story.
No great dramatic is also refreshing.
A nicely crafted open ending completes this picture & leaves you wanting to know more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun!, 28 Feb 2014

I found myself laughing out loud as I watched this series.
Hilarious cutting remarks flow freely throughout but with a loving foundation under two main characters as well as their friends.
Thanks to all involved!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-See!, 22 Dec 2012
Exceptional!
This filmed version went places that the stage show could not physically take you visually.
So many highlights, too many to mention here...go & see it for yourself. Watch out for "Empty Chairs, Empty Tables", Eddie Redmayne absolutely floored me! That's not to take it away from all the cast. Stunning all round!
Look out for Colm Wilkinson...a very nice touch!
Well done to ALL involved.
The Bluray version of this film will be in my collection as soon as it is released!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Awesome!, 24 Oct 2010
I have just returned from a local cinema here in Perth, Western Australia where I experienced this most amazing performance on the big screen!
Like many, many people, I would have loved to have actually been there however this great recording would have to be the closest you can get to that!
The clarity of the sound and visuals are superb. The performances of the cast, orchestra and chorus are truly stunning.
I have already ordered the blu-ray version of this awesome concert and am tempted to buy a second...in case I wear out the first!
Very well done to EVERYONE involved in this production.

Long live Les Mis!

Children of Men [Blu-ray][Region Free] [2006]
Children of Men [Blu-ray][Region Free] [2006]
Dvd ~ Clive Owen
Price: £6.40

4.0 out of 5 stars Chillingly real, frighteningly immediate!, 2 Dec 2009
Wow, what an experience!
You, the viewer, are taken on a frantic journey with Theo (Clive Owen), coping with unexpected dangers and various curious characters along the way including the pregnant Kee (Claire-Hope Ashitey).
This is "edge of your seat" stuff.
You rarely get a chance to catch your breath and, like Theo, have no idea who can be trusted until circumstances force each of these people to reveal their motives with surprising results.
The wonderful settings and visuals, like the characters, are skilfully detailed, chillingly realistic and, at times, uncompromising.
Some unexpected twists keep the viewer off balance throughout this very well crafted film.
