CNC Milling in the Workshop (Crowood's Metalworking Guides)
CNC Milling in the Workshop (Crowood's Metalworking Guides)
by Marcus D. Bowman
Edition: Hardcover
Price: 13.30

5.0 out of 5 stars Good and progressive working through the methods, 22 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Still reading, but from my own basis of never having done CNC before, everything is explained clearly and is following logically. Not too weighty and giving me confidence to use a mill without disaster breaking out. Useful pictures and GUI snapshots throughout.

2.0 out of 5 stars Check model!, 1 Sep 2008
Nothing wrong with the product itself, but it does not readily identify what camera it is for. I bought a 350 camera, this is for a 700 which has a fractionally bigger display, the sheet does not cut down very successfully at all, but can see the product would otherwise work fine.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I had hoped for, 1 Sep 2008
This review is from: Practical DMX (Paperback)
Compared to some of the tech books on my reading list, this is not too difficult to get into, but there is not quite the depth on the underlying DMX system. A lot of the book is more dedicated to the design for the location and good wiring practices. A number of concepts presentable such as mentioning 10Mb ethernet being most popular at time of press (2006), but 100Mb-1Gb was being installed by everyone at that time. Ironically, the company the author works for was used to install lighting at my place of work and this indicates a few contradictions. Does cover the basics, but not that comprehensive.

3.0 out of 5 stars Rather heavy duty, 16 Aug 2008
A heavy dose of maths from A-level to undergrad sort of standard, genuine enough but not necessarily put across the best. A good quantity of examples, but drawings for concepts not always very clear. More heavy duty than the fundamentals mentioned in the title.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great piece of kit, 16 Aug 2008
More pixels than you can shake a stick at, read the manual to find all sorts of tricks (although tinkering brings a lot to hand anyway). More intuitive than it first appears - menus are inevitable. Standard lens OK for general shots, but the 75-300mm zoom gives a lot more range particularly for outdoor shots. Spare battery and a few CF cards not a bad idea if you are going snap-happy, but will get hundreds on most cards. Viewing and deleting is very quick, no massive start-up time. Does need technical savvy as do most SLRs, otherwise use a regular camera. Flash card adapter for PC access would be a good accessory, as would simple bag - none supplied for a high end item like this.

1.0 out of 5 stars In the wrong category but not sure which one would suit, 16 Aug 2008
This review is from: Rock N Roll Jesus (Audio CD)
Please, you have got to be kidding about buying this. A new form of shock-rock where the 'artist' in this case can be accused of unwarranted butchery particularly to the original 'werewolves of london' and 'sweet home alabama' that died and have had their very souls crushed in the head-on collision that is 'all summer long'. If you love rock don't buy it. If this is up your street I won't ever want your music collection.
