Too many coincidences and too trite for my taste. An ok read that just about held my attention. Predictable ending that you can see coming from almost the first chapter.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a great Pratchett, 2 Feb. 2014

This book was a disappointment. It lacked the subtle humour that is his trademark and to be honest, the story itself was fairly dull. No twists, very little unexpected occurrence and the characters were very one dimensional in this outing.

This review is from: Vulcan 607 (Kindle Edition)
To be honest I was only 12 when the Falklands happened but I can't really remember any mention of it. I recently saw the Vulcan fly at Manston air show 2013 and it was impressive. I was thus prompted to read this book and have not been disappointed. Although a bit techy in places the author conveys the difficulty of the mission and the exhilaration of success very well. All in all a good read and I`m left in awe of the crew of those bombers in 1982.

Ok generic sci fi read. The story clips along nicely and it was a good follow up to the first book. All in all, a good read that kept me engaged.

An ok book written about a historically very significant time but I felt the style of prose was too often simplistic and the storyline too contrived for my liking.
