Wars of the Roses: Trinity
Wars of the Roses: Trinity

5.0 out of 5 stars War of the Roses, 26 Oct 2014

What a way to learn your own history. At school I had to learn about the War of the Roses, it was not taught well and the topic was long and drawn out. Conn Iggulden has brought the history to life and the characters to life as well, making our history real and the story telling gripping.
I enjoyed the story, I enjoyed the way it has been written and presented.
If you want to read a good book, this is the one to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Victoria's Wars by David Soul, 20 Sep 2014

As part of my research into my family's history, where a great deal of it was spent in the army at this time, David Soul's book has been invaluable. Not only did I learn more about the period, the narrative flowed as told by a natural story teller.
The book a very well written and compelling read.
Anyone who is studying this period should read this book and anyone who wants to know more about the life and conditions of the army would also benefit from it.

Man of Honour is an excellent book bringing a new part of history into the mix. If you enjoyed Iain Gale work in non fiction you will equally enjoy the historical fiction and the story rolls on.

This is a true story, however, Robert Harris brings it to life with vivid clarity. The main characters step out of the book and back into the world due to the spellbinding capabilities of the author. I really could not put the book down, as a work of fiction it would have been excellent but to bring history to life this way is impressive.

Tim Severins book The Emperors Elephant is written in the authors knowledgeable style. The reader can sense the atmosphere brought to life in the story. As usual the story can trace its origins in history. A very good read leaving the reading eager for the next book.

Having read the Viking books by Tim Severin, it was no surprise to find the Saxon first book to be written with the same excitement that draws the reader into the story. I will now start reading the next book in the Saxon series.

Was not expecting a,short story but very good. E books do not give you an idea of how much content. However the
E quality was excellent, as you would expect.
