5.0 out of 5 stars Good jazz and death defying flying, 17 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Phryne is out and about in this book. Some good jazz is being played at the Green Mill as a dance marathon is coming to its conclusion. Only the end arrives spectacularly when one of the male dancers is murdered. The young man that is Phrynes escort promptly leaves the club through the bathroom window. Plenty of twists and turns, including a flight into the mountains that is death defying. Altogether a really good book.

Crossed Hearts (Matchmaker Trilogy Book 2)
Crossed Hearts (Matchmaker Trilogy Book 2)
Price: £1.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Number two of three., 17 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is the second in her trilogy, this story of a New Yorker sent to the country to think about her life when her apartment is about to be bought around her is interesting. The first story felt contrived the second felt even more so. I will finish all three just to see what she contrives for the third.

Young single woman rents pop up shop in Edinburgh, she is a baker. Across the road is The Chocolate Shop, run by a successful man, with a past. Our heroine also works as a knitwear model, which leads to a couple of misleading events. The Chocolate Shop owner is a hunk with a heart of gold, he saves Kitty when her car breaks down and the winter weather causes havoc. Put reality aside, sit down with a mug of hot chocolate, a box of good chocolates, a piece of chocolate cake and enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars exhausting story., 16 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This a complex story which opens with Maisie helping Detective Inspector Stratton to identify a girl charged with murder. She manages to encourage the girl to do this. Two new cases quickly follow. The new cases mean that Maisie must return to France for the first time since the war. In this year of the hundredth anniversary the story, although set later, evokes some of the horrors that happened during the period. The journey back to the area where she served places Maisie under severe mental and physical pressure, which cause her to collapse. Billy her assistant is working on the murder case at home. The personable lie comes at the conclusion of the story. A compelling story, you will need to finish this one.
