5.0 out of 5 stars Trick or Treatment?, 19 Jan. 2011
This book is excellent starting as it does by looking at the 'first clincial trial' for scurvy the 'first' evidence based medicine with blood letting and a range of excellent discussions based on evidence (if it exists) about many of the so called alternative medicines. If you believe in homeopathy - perhaps this isn't for you. Then again perhaps you are the ideal reader. The serious reader might need to find a copy of The Desktop Guide to Complementary and Alternative Medicine which is the evidence on which the more readable Trick or Treatment was based. A very good book and very readable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nicolas Culpeper, 23 July 2010
I bought Heal Thyself by Benjamin Wooley a few weeks ago and it is an excellent read. Well written and packed with information about, not only Nicolas Culpeper but the period in medical history from the death of James first through to the Civil War. The only problem for me was it is the same book as Benjamin Wooley's The Herbalist - just the title is different for the North American market I assume. Sadly I already had The Herbalist. Still a good read and an excellent service from the bookseller in Canada.
