5.0 out of 5 stars Reinforce your common sense!, 10 Feb 2012
So many quotes, so much intelligence and coupled with not an insignificant amount of humor. The essence of common sense, destroying charlatans, clerics, theologians and priests by the page. The biggest religions have been and gone, this book will help kill off the last of the remainder hard though it is to believe that anyone still gives them space in 2012! A quote from the book " Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, give a man a religion and he will die praying for a fish!" Love it, one more then, "only sheep need a Shepard"

5.0 out of 5 stars For serious use, don't forget the lub!, 30 Aug 2011
This is the price point/quality where you realise that all the others you have used at home have really been toys, business machines built down to a price for the domestic market. Couple this beefier build with a quieter shredder mechanism and an awareness of shredder lubricant and you have genuine daily use office equipment here, it doesn't seem to feel like it's working too hard. If there is a downside it's the industrial appearance which no doubt will help it blend into the background in some offices or homes. I've had about 5 domestic shredders in the past, each has lasted only 6-18 months, wish I'd gone for this quality first now especially as it's available at such a reasonable price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Genuinely works! Wonderful, 7 Jun 2011
Pro:I use it everyday and it works brilliantly. You will need a tin of spray on cooking oil to keep the poacher easily released and a very small sharp edged soft plastic spatula to get your egg out every day. Before I eat I wipe the poacher with a piece of kitchen towel, the device is ready to go again and I'm done. Also the water measurer that comes with it has very subtle markings so it's worth marking it up yourself with a permanent marker.
Con: Everybody wants me to do their bloody breakfast now!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not waterproof, 4 Feb 2009
The watch works well, the strap is easy to adjust with a jewelers screwdriver. It has a great auto illumination feature which enables the face to light up only when you twist your wrist!
I'm very pleased with the look, especially at the price. My only real criticism is that when I bought it, because it looked sporty, I took no notice of the fact that it has almost no waterproofing at all! Beware.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Happiness Hypothesis, it's all about you!, 4 Feb 2009
If like me, you enjoy fair mental health and you will have a healthy interest in your own overall well being, this is "the book" on the subject. It deserves special time set aside for it, even religion is tackled head on, separating cultural social benefits from the superstitious and war like competitive nonsense of fundamentalism. Best of all perhaps is the tying together of so many great works on the subject of happiness from so many disciplines by a well read intelligent author, who has the capability to bring it all together, with clarity and logic in one place. I'm about to read it for the 3rd time, this time with a highlighter, it's brilliant. Be ready to rethink you thoughts on Prozac and talking therapies. If I have a criticism, it's that it's not available in hardback with a clever tagged index system. Makes a great gift, one copy will not be enough.

The God Delusion
The God Delusion
by Richard Dawkins
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars The most important book of the new millenium, 30 May 2007
This review is from: The God Delusion (Hardcover)
Think clearly, question everything, put science, people, fairness and reason first.

Dawkins explains how this train of thought not only extinguishes supernatural belief, but, calls upon those who reject magic, and the supernatural to dare stand up and be counted. He also questions the wisdom many of our larger institutions think they demonstrate by holding reverence for almost anything "religious".

If the Dawkins offering is a tad too weighty at some 350 pages, consider "Letter to a Christian Nation" by Sam Harris at less than 100 pages it carries a similar message. Each book refers to the other as supportive text.
