Pro-Tec Shield Clip-On Case Cover for HTC Desire Z - Black
Pro-Tec Shield Clip-On Case Cover for HTC Desire Z - Black

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Case! does what it says on the tin, 2 Dec 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've had this case for nearly six months now and I am very happy with it. It does increase the size of the phone slightly, but I feel that the protection offered is worth the trade-off, especially seeing as I've dropped it a few times and the phone has survived unscathed.

The case is very tight fitting and I like the look, which is a plus as my Desire Z is second hand and had a few scratches on the back. Also the case does not interfere at all with the pop out hinge mechanism of the desire Z. This is really great as most of the other cases are fatally flawed as you have to do more things before you can get to your phone. e.g. folding leather cover back. TBH, I don't even notice the case is on it anymore when I use the phone. This is unlike my experience with silicone based cases that tend to peel away at the edges and do not offer as much protection as a hard shell.

Matter
Matter
by Iain M. Banks
Edition: Paperback
Price: 6.50

4.0 out of 5 stars an excellent read, 13 Nov 2010
This review is from: Matter (Paperback)
Just finished reading this and thought it was awesome. banks is a great futurist and not only discusses technology well, but also addresses the philosophical implications and ramifications behind it. I find that most Banks books can be hard going for the first 50 pages or so, but once you settle into it the payoff is well worth it. I've also noticed that I really have to take my time reading them. If I rush it, his writing style doesn't allow full satisfaction. Bit like LOTR in that.

Principles and Problems in Physical Chemistry for Biochemists
Principles and Problems in Physical Chemistry for Biochemists
by Nicholas C. Price
Edition: Paperback
Price: 35.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for concepts, 15 Jun 2009
This is an excellent text that successfully expands physical chemistry concepts in a biological framework. Thus, it serves as an excellent bridge that helps contextualise the often dry descriptions found in chemistry texts such as Atkins. It is well written and the diagrams integrate nicely with the text. This text clarified certain aspects of thermodynamics and quantum mechanics that I had difficulty understanding since the first year. The practice problems are fine for grasping the concepts discussed, but limited number means I only give this book four stars. However, this text is heartily recommended for any biologists or biochemists wanting to learn more about physical chemistry.

5.0 out of 5 stars superb film, 28 Sep 2005
excellent characters, with a plot intensity that sucks you in. perhaps a bit over theatrical, but if you roll with it, it readily sucks you in. the ending is darkly superb.

Calculations in AS / A Level Chemistry
Calculations in AS / A Level Chemistry

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely User Friendly, 19 Mar 2005
This book is a godsend as far as calculations in Chemistry are concerned. The book is printed on quality paper and the content is laid out extremely well. There are sidebars on all the pages that contain information relevant to specific problems. This layout certainly aids conceptual learning.
Jim Clark is consistent in the methods he presents and explains them in a practical way that is easy to understand. The practice questions have worked answers in the back. This is extremely important as it allows students to see where they have gone wrong (if this is the case) and backs up the set methods in the rest of the book. A lot of other text books just give the answer at the back, which can lead to some head scratching if the error is not an obvious one.
The only complaint I would have is that there are not enough practice questions to do. I would gladly pay more for more practice questions with worked answers. This is a minor complaint though. Especially when compared to the quality of explanation. This is extremely important if you are studying by yourself and have no tutor to ask.
The author runs an excellent website at [...] that proves to be a worthy companion to the book.

Preacher: Gone to Texas

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome!, 27 Dec 2004
buy it, read it, then get the others in the series. i have the entire collection and have re-read them many times as they are very revistable. i tend not re-read suff, prefering the thrill of new discoveries, but this is one of the exceptions. the humour is irreverent, the action bloody, the characters developed well and the plot riveting. this makes a guarenteed gift-pleaser for any male friends for whom you do not what to get.

5.0 out of 5 stars entrancing, 27 Dec 2004
This review is from: An Unseemly Man (Paperback)
Perhaps everyone who has heard of larry flynt has an opinion on him, but whether that is good or bad, it cannot be denied that he is a remarkable man. this biography is wittily written and covers a lot of ground that the film does not. a portrait of a man with the desire to succeed; entrenpeneurs will do well to take a few of the informal lessons on perseverence and spotting an opportunity that flynt has to offer. a lot of the situations he has experienced in his life are hilarious and others highlight the serious need to stand up to censorship and fight for what you believe to be right, despite opposition and the possibilities of losing both money and liberty.
heartily recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent piece of equipment, 27 Dec 2004
well built piece of equipment. has three safety features - the thing the weight goes on; another safety valve that raises and vents excess steam, then lastly a fusible disk. if both the other two are blocked - this disc melts and vents all the steam. a word of advice - keep the spares of this disc safe - they are loose in the pressure cooker & i threw them away thinking they were excess packaging. make sure you stock up on these discs from cust service in case you blow them as well - as they are not always in stock. note that i blew mine because of overfilling, not because of any fault of the design. in fact if it was not for the design, i would probably be redesigning my kitchen.

4.0 out of 5 stars hilarious, 27 Dec 2004
very funny chris morris material. the send ups of famous celebrities and politicians make this a must own piece. the comedy is sharply incisive and satirical. look out for the very interesting bonus material section recording a bunch of addicts watching the drugs episode.
