Disaster, 18 Sept. 2015
I thought that that things couldn't get any worse after the childish and inconsequential A New Dawn. I was wrong. It's actually quite hard to convey how bad this book is; I think another one-star reviewer had the right idea in simply posting a quotation. As a number of reviewers have commented, the writing is truly shocking: littered with unnecessary and misused punctuation, awful, stilted dialogue, and weird, incomprehensible sentences. But much worse than the style is the complete *lack of imagination*. The story is completely devoid of wonder, mystery, beauty, feeling, narrative, character... all of the things that make a story worthwhile. I just *can't believe* that anyone involved in either publishing or Star Wars could allow this book to enter the public domain. It cheapens the Star Wars brand, and is, quite frankly, a disgrace.
