A sly satire on 50s monster movies with a splash of Dune, 7 Sept. 2000
Val and Earl are two handy men in a small desert community. They do all the nasty work in the town of 'Perfection'. They decide that they have had enough of life in Perfection and try to leave. Something stops them! It would be a crime to give anymore away. I love the characters in this film, the gun toting trigger happy couple who have an arsenal in their cellar, the sassy seismologist that turns up to check out some strange underground activity, the way that Val and Earl use paper scissors stones to decide everything from who's going to make breakfast to who is going to risk their lives and save the day. The plot is very thin, but this is a 'B' monster movie and it all goes to prove that you do not need famous actors and a massive budget to make a cracking film.
