Stay away!, 29 Sept. 2015
We have 3 of these in the house, costing £100 each. Within 1 year we had 4 false alarms between different units, so all are faulty! One was replaced and still went off for no reason. 3 out of 4 times happened in the middle of the night.
The noise is deafening, the only way to silence it is to take it off the ceiling completely and take batteries out.
Good luck with that at 2am with the rest of the family and kids panicked and whaling!
Will be sending them a massive complaint but doubt Nest will do anything about it as their customer services is rubbish too!
Go for the traditional smoke detector for peace of mind!
