4.0 out of 5 stars Good chips for the money. Not always perfect quality though, 14 Nov. 2010
= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
For the money these chips are very good value. Look nice enough, nice weight etc. The cards are plain but wasn't expecting anything fancy. However both packs of cards I received had significant printing blemishes on the backs of the cards making them unusable. Also 2 of the chips were scuffed significantly on the sides.

Still the chips are great and while it's a shame there's so money white chips and less of the nicer looking ones, they still easily accommodate 10 player games if valued well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive, 15 Mar. 2006
After i originally listened to "Day 14: Pride" off of a sample CD i couldn't help but find out more about the music. I found out about how Arjen Lucassen creates the music and uses many different talents to play each role in his stories and I was seriously interested.
This album is seriously awesome. The story, unlike his usual mystical sci-fi based insanity, is seriously good. Using the different voices to play each different "emotion" within one man (James LaBrie) in a comma. The music varies so much and is hard to define to a particular style but definately doesn't dissapoint. Superb use of a large range of instruments truly makes the story worth following from start to finish. Some awesome synth solo's and impressive drumming give you something to look forward to in each song aswell.
DVD is pretty interesting and takes you into Arjen's crazy world and how he creates his "Rock Operas". A definate good listen and i would recommend it to anyone.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be Awesome, 14 Mar. 2006
I was drawn to buying this album because of Devin's ability to know exactly what he wants to achieve with lyrics and his ability to lay down many voice tracks to create an awesome sound.
I listened through the album mainly enjoying the starting 3 tracks. After listening a few more times i couldn't help getting bored with it. Now obviously if you listen to something or do something to much its not gonna be as good as the first few times but the reason is simply that the songs are too long and dont progress in any way. This isn't that im against long tracks. i'm a DT fan and seriously enjoy long progressive tracks. The thing is though he makes such awesome riffs and the sound is awesome... but it's overused. The songs just go on and on. Before you know it the riff you were loving at the start of the track has turned into a throbbing pain in your ears.
I'm not saying that his songs need to progress on top of the beginning riffs and go off in random ways or anything. I simply think it's better suited to making the tracks short sweet 3-4 minute songs of pure metal genius. A real shame but still a good listen to any heavy fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, 14 Mar. 2006
This review is from: Abydos (Audio CD)
Never since getting Dream Theater's "Scenes from a Memory" have i been so addicted to an album before. Since buying this album back in December i have still not stopped listening to this CD. From start to finish it does nothing but impress.
Track 1 just sets up the album nicely with a quick minute long, drum based instrumental. This is followed by a slower paced song which at first seems unfitting but progresses and becomes surprisingly addictive. It's so hard to pick any faults throughout the album and its clear that it is only the very best work.
As hard as it is to choose a particular song i would have to say that Coppermoon is my fave track of the album having such an awesome riff and superb use of musical effects. I seriously recommend this album to everyone as it ranges over many styles most of which many fans can enjoy.

1.0 out of 5 stars ........Sigh, 14 Mar. 2006
This review is from: BE (Audio CD)
Seriously wow. After hearing the one track "Lilium Cruentus" off of a sample disc i thought, "Pretty good track, wonder what the albums like". Read many reviews comparing them to Dream Theater and how if i enjoyed "Scenes From a Memory" then i have to get this.
Now im pretty much open to anything but seriously this was so bad it wasn't even funny. It has maybe 3 decent tracks one of which was the one i had already heared; one which isn't quite lyrics, but population statistics, but has pretty cool music behind it; n maybe one other track i can't remember i was so annoyed i just got rid of it.
i'm not against religous lyrics but when a track has "Oh Lord" 13 times!!!!!!!!! it gets pretty damn annoying. Annoyingly whiny. Quite dissapointed as i was looking forward to it but if your gonna compare something to dream theater, make sure it can't possibly dissapoint.
