Enjoyable listening material, different in tone to LAdy Antebellum, but not so mch to spoil anything.

Lovers of Golden Age SF will love this.
Comparable to Heinlien, Clarke, Niven and Pournelle.
More linked stories eagerly awaited.

If you like classic SF from the viewpoint of the practical workers this is right up your street. In the same vein as Heinlien, Niven and Adam Steele, well worth the read. Sarcasm, snark and humour abound.

3.0 out of 5 stars A time filler for a journey., 1 Sept. 2014

Not a bad story, in fact has great potential, but it reads as if it's jumping a lot, rather like a quick scene change in a movie. Used as a basis for a longer more detailed book this would work very well as the principle storyline has a unique approach.
BUT I do have two major criticisms, One is to do with description of the Cold in the Ice region....there is none; Two a character is killed, mention of a funeral, then appears again later in the book.......Sorry proof reading/editorial failure there!

Despite the advertising blurb of "What if Harry Potter was Steampunk?" It is not Steampunk.
What it is, is a very good and enjoyable book with humour, good characters, 'believable' behaviour and enough of a take on Superhero/Supervillany Comic book stories to make it work.
Fans of comic books will appreciate it, people who like innovative story lines will like it, people who like SF will like it.

Once I started on it I couldn't stop reading it and YES this seriously deserves a sequel or two.

A classic of lyrical SF, though provoking and as equally viable in today's climate as when it was written.
Thoroughly enjoyed the re-read.
