5.0 out of 5 stars Great Camera, suitable for all ages, 2 Aug. 2011

----------
We bought this camera for our 5 year son. His sister has one of the much earlier models.

Initial views
- The Camera grabs their attention straight away. It has some very simple to use buttons which take no time to navigate.
- It really is a point and click which meant that straight away he was taking pictures
- Batteries are included, so we avoided the usual panic-scramble while we tried to get it working

Durability
- The camera has been dropped MANY times, but you'd never know. The rubber handles and edges protect all the delicate bits
- Screen has somehow avoided scratches and a brief wipe with a cloth brings it back to life

Features
- Videos are really fun. My children have recorded several shows/performances with relative ease
- It comes with games which keep them relatively amused. They obviously don't compare to something like a DS etc, but since we're too mean to buy our children one of these, the camera games are going down quite well! ;)
- The robot voice changer gets as much use as the camera now. Tends to get a little annoying for the adults tho....
- Memory space is huge. We've had it a while now and only `archived' off once.
- Batteries last surprising long. The 4 are stored in the grips to the side and only need changing once every 2 weeks, and that's through heavy use and rechargeable batteries.
- Adding backgrounds is very good. It's slightly more complicated, but my son gets a lot of enjoyment out of turning Daddy into a pirate etc. You have the ability to add elements at a time. Eg moustache, eye-patch, etc.

Quality
- You can't really fault the camera considering most of the piccies are taken while moving or whilst being dropped.
- The screen is very clear and you get a very good view of the photos taken

All-in-all, we think this was an excellent purchase and don't regret it at all.

Philips NT9110 Nose Hair Trimmer
Philips NT9110 Nose Hair Trimmer
Offered by Express Essentials
Price: £19.97

5.0 out of 5 stars Your search for the (almost) perfect unwanted hair trimmer is over, 27 July 2011
Please Click below if you found this review helpful!
----------
Item arrived with 3 days.

Features:
- Small lightweight trimmer
- Protective plastic cap
- 2 trimmers for eye-brows

Sturdiness/Cleanliness
- Pretty good. It feels like it could withstand a drop into the sink (although, not sure my money would be on it surviving a drop to the floor!)
- You are advised to rinse the trimmer under the tap after each use. This is great. It means no need to muck around with mini-brushes etc
- The trimmer doesn't come with a bag or case which means that the combs (which are quite small) are undoubtedly going to get lost sooner rather than later

Usability
- The trimmer needs to catch the hairs at the right angle, so needs some movement (which becomes easy after the first few goes)
- The trimmer turns on via a twist of the handle. This is fine except a firm twist back to turn it back off can result in the battery popping out...
- Its not too noisy, so can be used in the morning without waking your household up. The noise is only slightly audible from outside a closed bathroom door.
- I've been using it on the same battery for about 2 months now and it's as good as it was when purchased

Yes, there are a few gripes that I thought worth mentioning, but I've tried a few trimmers over the years and none come close to this one. You need look no further than the Philips if you are after a decent trimmer.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the price - you cannot fault this case, 27 July 2011
Please Click below if you found this review helpful!
----------
Features:
- Pretty thin, so doesn't make your iPad too chunky
- Various `tilt' options to facilitate viewing/typing
- Comes with 2 screen protectors

Sturdiness
- Actually, I was surprised. For this price, I expected poor quality, but actually, it looks and feels good
- I've been using it for a few weeks and despite being grabbed/pulled etc by the family, it's proved to be very solid.
- It actually saved my iPad from a fall too. I don't recommend testing this as some edges have more padding than others, but mine was dropped and landed on the hinged edge without so much as a wimper....

You cant fault this for the money - go buy one!

Hot Wheels Custom Motors Power Set Humvee
Hot Wheels Custom Motors Power Set Humvee
Offered by triple-A-toys
Price: £29.45

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for any budding car designer!, 25 July 2011
Please Click below if you found this review helpful!
----------
In true Amazon style, this arrived extremely quickly.

Packaging is typical of this product range, with each car part being displayed to enthuse the recipient!

So, for those who are new to these toys, they are very clever. You are given the car `frame/chassis' and get a selection of `bits and bobs' (as my son calls them) to clip onto various parts of the car. For example, you might get a set of small wheels, large wheels and/or skis(!) etc that you can mix and match (makes for an interesting Dragster!). The connectors are also common across sets, so aids imagination through some ingenious creations.

Specifically, this car comes with 2 small wheels, 2 large ones and 2 caterpillar trails. Of course, no Humvee would be complete without the rocket launcher!! It fires the plastic rocket with enough power to be fun, but not to take the eye out of the pet cat.

The doors come off too which help with explosions I am told....

All-in-all, our son loves this and so far it has stood up to all of which he has dealt out.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's good, but you need a proper aerial, 25 July 2011
Please Click below if you found this review helpful!
----------
Setup:
- It was very quick to install and worked fine with Windows 7 64bit.
- It's pretty small, so discretely fits into your USB port with the fear of it snapping off.

Usability:
- I bought this in some vain attempt to get TV onto my laptop in my kitchen (currently without TV aerial point). The mini aerial supplied is hopeless and didn't provide me with any channels.
- Connected to a TV point, this items works perfectly
- You can either use the supplied viewing app or windows media centre. I opted for Windows, but either is fine.
- It's USB2, so no lagging

In summary, it's good, but unless you are in a really strong signal area or are connecting it directly to a main TV aerial, then forget it!

Integral USB 2.0 Single Slot SD Reader
Integral USB 2.0 Single Slot SD Reader
Price: £2.85

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast, Reliable, Easy to install and Cheap!!, 22 July 2011

It's impossible to fault this product.

Look and Feel:
- The device is wire-free, so slots nicely into your pocket and means that using it on a laptop doesn't result in a stream of wires dangling from your legs while you're trying to us it on a train!
- It feels durable too and although I've only had it a few weeks it feels like it's going to last

Usability:
- Simply plug it into your pc/laptop/mac. I tried it on a PC and laptop, using Windows 7 and Windows Vista. Both worked straight away. Windows detected the device and within seconds, it was ready to use
- I tried it with a variety of card sizes (up to 8GB) and SDHC and SD. All worked a dream
- It uses USB2.0 which means of course that it is fast!

General:
- To be honest, for the money, you can't go wrong with this. If you're after a multi-SDcard reader, then you don't need to look further than this!

5.0 out of 5 stars An incredible ceiling speaker well worth the money, 22 July 2011
Please Click below if you found this review helpful!
----------
Packaging:
- These arrived as a pair, safely boxed in polystyrene.
- The speakers come with grill covers, a plastic protective cover (when painting) and a template for cutting your hole

Fitting:
- This couldn't be easier. Simply use the stencil to draw a circle in your ceiling, drill a starter hole, and then follow your line with a small hand-saw (being careful not to saw through any wires hidden in your ceiling!!).
- Once you have a (big) hole, wire your speaker up (usual connectors) and push the speaker into the hole
- You then have 4 screws that have an ingenious mechanism that grips the ceiling in a clamp-like way as you turn the screws.

Sound:
- They sound great. I replaced my stand-mounted B&W surround speakers with these and I haven't been disappointed
- I decided to buy 2 pairs, 1 for the surround and the other for the rear speakers
- The speakers come with a pivoting 1" tweeter, enabling you to direct the sound where it is required - although, to be honest, I've not felt the need to do this.

General Comments:
- They are bigger than I expected. Yes, yes, I know they say 8", so I shouldn't be surprised, but it's only when you see them in, do you realise, that they are actually really quite large. They are not the discrete, invisible speakers I'd envisaged when buying
- They come with a plastic cover to protect the main speaker when painting the outside...yes, you read it right! You can paint the 1.5inch rim around the edge to help blend them into your ceiling! I'm not entirely convinced this makes a huge difference as you still have the 6-7" grill on show afterwards which is not paintable...

To summarise, a great speaker, great sound, easy to fit, but not invisible!!

HW CUSTOM MOTORS

4.0 out of 5 stars A great addition to the "mix n match" hot-wheels collection, 21 July 2011

For example, you might get a set of small wheels, large wheels and/or skis(!) etc that you can mix and match (makes for an interesting Dragster!). The connectors are also common across sets, so aids imagination through some ingenious creations.

Specifically, this Batman car is pretty much along the lines of the other models. It comes with Batmobile wheels and also a set of caterpillar style wheels. It has a variety of wings/shields/guns which have gone down very well with my son.

One negative for this is than some of the pieces do not fit tightly which means in the middle of an action packed adventure, a few items fall off (without much duress). This is unusual for a toy in this range and perhaps we received a `Friday afternoon one.' However, my son doesn't want to lose it for a day while we exchange it, so it's not *that* important!

Overall, we are very happy given the price.
