4.0 out of 5 stars Perfection...Nearly!!!, 4 Mar 2013
This review is from: Pan Am - Season 1 [DVD] (DVD)
What a great series centering on the lives of the crew of a PAN AM plane during 1963...before you think that this sounds dull...It isn't. The well rounded characters and sharp and and witty writing had me laughing and tearing up in each episode. The back stories or the main characters is well handled and it was only a shame that this lost out in the ratings to Mad Men as this had so much more to give us. The DVD set is complete, but the episodes have been put on in the wrong order, ie episode 2 is on the second disc and the second to last one is put on disc 3....Check out the playing order on as the story makes sense in the correct order. Otherwise you have characters moving out of flats and then appearing back at their old flat next week!!! Shame on the company that made this DVD set...they clearly didn't watch what they are selling for plot development and continuity!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Revamped - but getting a little tired, 29 Mar 2011
I love Bewitched, but even with newly decorated sets, and storys that now follow on in this series, I have to admit that while maintaining its charm, the joke and plots are getting old. How many times does Larry Tate have to say he doesn't like Darrin's sales line, only for the client to say he does and then Larry back tracks? I guess this may be due to watching one after the other, but as there is only one more series to go, I think even the TV company had reached the same conclusion. I love it to bits...but only in smaller doses from now on....

5.0 out of 5 stars This toast landed butter side up!, 29 Mar 2011
This review is from: Toast [DVD] (DVD)
I must admit that I had never heard of Nigel Slater before I watched this, however after seeing this I want to read the book this is based on. The story of Nigel's young life is a wonderful and capturing story of heartache, loss, and truimph. The story is set against the mentality of 1960's surburbia and in one half the relationship with his mother (Victoria Hamilton) and in the second half his relationship with Helena Bonham Carter. It is a great DVD to watch if you like the BBC four type drama and is reminiscent of "Enid" also starring Helana Bonham Carter. If you like Lark rise to Candleford it is a must as half the cast has been in Larkrise too. A wonderful coming of age drama which any thirty something will heartily appreciate and enjoy.

Excellent CD from the runner up of the Aussie Pop Idol show. This album is very Bryan Adams without the drowning!!! A great album with some powerful songs. 10/10.
