1.0 out of 5 stars Unstable and expensive to replace, 21 Jun. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I purchased one of SanDisks Cruzer Slice 32GB USB Flash Drives in late February 2012.
I used it a few times to transfer some files from my own computer to my girlfriend's laptop. A day in May the same year it locked up saying the device was now write protected and would not allow me to edit or delete files currently saved on it nor add files to it. It also would not let me format the device.
After being informed by Amazon that because I had had the device over one month I could not get a replacement through them but had to contact SanDisk personally. After a few emails back and fourth with SanDisk I was informed I needed to send the device back to them in the Czech Republic using tracked airmail and pay for it myself. I have now done this at a further expense of nearly £7.00.
Just a little warning to anybody planning on purchasing one of this drives. They are unstable and if you get a faulty one it may cost you even more to get it replaced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it, if only for the demo, 7 Feb. 2008
This review is from: The Girl Is Mine 2008 (Audio CD)
The remixes are nice enough. Driving beat and classic will.i.am rap that helps lift the track into the modern music scene. The last track is the original demo from 1982. Amazingly, the arrangement is superior to the version that made it to the Thriller album. Jackson takes up both parts and McCartney is nowhere to be heard. It's always a pleasure to hear original but unreleased tracks from Jackson's classic era.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not THAT good, 3 Sept. 2006

It seems as if the show took a turning during season four. Most of the situations are just too unrealistic and we no longer have a comedy about an average British family in the 00's but almost a remake of the absurdity that was "Terry & June" in the 80's.

There are still some good moments and some very funny lines but I can't help but think that the cast carry the show because the writing is not up the the standard of the earlier series'.

Also, the BBC seem to have made several edits to language throughout this set which begs the question, why give it a 12 rating if you are going to edit out minor bad language?

5.0 out of 5 stars Even more Fizz!, 25 Aug. 2006
This review is from: The Lost Masters (Audio CD)
Where do I start? The mastering is brillant and superior to most of the bonus tracks that appeared on the previous Bucks Fizz remasters. Most of the tracks are re-recorded versions from the same era as the originals, remixes of familiar tracks, tracks that were only half finished in the 80s or solo tracks from members of the group. Jay Aston's vocals on 'Oh Suzanne' give the track a completey different feel to the version where Cheryl Baker took the lead and other tracks such as 'Move Over' would have been commercial hits if they had been released at the time. It's a great pity that Bobby Gee's solo efforts were not included. Either version of 'Big Deal' plus their b-sides would have been a great addition to this compilation. The only downside for me was a lack of description of the individual tracks. I would love to know more about when some of them were recorded, the reasons the were not used and if there are any more unheard recordings on those tapes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just as eery as I remembered from my childhood, 19 Jun. 2006
This review is from: The Moomins - Vol. 1 [DVD] (DVD)
At last we can relive the original Moomins series from the early 1980s. If you remember seeing it when you were young, the atmosphere and theme music should bring back many fond memories from your youth.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing compilation, 24 Feb. 2006

This review is from: The Ultimate Anthology (Audio CD)
This double album features the singles (many of them newly mastered from the original full master tape especially for this release - hence the "dead end version") and all the b-sides that were not included on the original Bucks Fizz album re-issues. Even if you have these re-issues AND the recent BMG released Greatest Hits, this compilation has something more for you!

Also, just to correct Terrence L Nicholson from Boston, track 12 on disc 2 IS the 1991 remix of "The Land Of Make Believe" and the "two invisible tracks" is a medley of live cover versions that originally appeared on the b-side of the "Golden Days" EP.

3.0 out of 5 stars More than a little disappointing, 21 Feb. 2006
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Two mixes of Don't Stop appear on the disc, the original 7" single edit and the longer 12" edit. Both are just shorter cuts of the original track, the later being shorter by only a few seconds. Also, "the audio side of this disc does not conform to CD specifications and thereforewill not play on some CD and DVD players" meaning that is doesn't play on my DVD player or on my computer.
The video on the DVD side has not had it's soundtrack remastered into 5.1 and appears only in stereo. The same goes for the DVD audio tracks.
On the plus side, the packaging is superb. The aged Epic sleeve inside the reproduced picture sleeve is perfect. It is just a pity that Sony BMG didn't put as much effort into the audio material.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointing, 21 Feb. 2006
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
First the cons: The CD Audio side "does not conform to CD specifications and therefore will not play on some CD and DVD players". The CD side would not play on my DVD player or my computer.
The DVD side's video soundtrack has not been remastered into 5.1 nor have the DVD audio tracks.
One of the two audio tracks has been released before many, many times in a remastered version.
On the plus side, the packaging is amazing. The aged Epic sleeve inside the original reproduction picture sleeve is perfect. Also, having the original "Re-mixed Short Version" of Thriller on CD for the first time is quite nice (notice the instrumental mix as the track fades out).
All in all, the proposed Australian release of the Thriller CD single from 2003 featured the Instrumental and two rare remixes of the track so I for one feel a little let down by Sony BMG for merely repackaging previously released Michael Jackson songs and not giving us something more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Electronic genius, 15 Dec. 2004

Visions of The Human League's early work come to mind. A classic futuristic feel with plenty of synth noise and electronic bass. A very "eighties" feel when electro music was still experimental, interesting and fun.
