Edition: Paperback
Price: £3.56

5.0 out of 5 stars Counting is Fun, 24 Jan. 2015
My young twin nephews were given a copy of this book and also "Hide and Seek" by the same author. They absolutely love them and enjoy reading them out loud. I would recommend these books, they are charming to look at and the stories are great fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mounting Suspense, 21 Nov. 2012
This review is from: The Burial Chamber (Paperback)
This is an extraordinary book full of mounting suspense. Not only the story is disturbing, so too is the information on medical treatments in the 1800s. The mentally ill had a particularly hard time of it. This book must have taken some years to research, the historical details add to the atmosphere. Also the way people spoke and related to each other at that time seem to have been captured brilliantly by the author. The ending is a big surprise, which is as it should be!

5.0 out of 5 stars A page turner, 5 Jan. 2012
This review is from: State of Guilt (Paperback)
Johannes Kerkhoven's book is totally absorbing. Reading it on the tube I nearly missed my stop a couple of times, you think you know what is about to happen, but then it doesn't happen, something else does. Thrilling! This book is also extremely well written, often beautiful.

This book is a wonderful addition to my working library. Although a practicing artist, I have rarely used a sketchbook. I am now inspired to keep one, or even several. Here is book full of ideas and so diverse. It shows not only the work of heavy-weights artists like Henry Moore, but also lively pages by students. Marvelous!
