3.0 out of 5 stars A mediocre effort by the kings of instrumental music..., 3 Aug 2007
This review is from: City Of Echoes (Audio CD)
Pelican have been one of my favourite bands of the last 5 years, writing 3 of the best albums in recent memory. But this record is too upbeat, more 'friendly' and more straight-to-the-point than their previous efforts. Personally, I don't think the songs are as well structured as they are on 'The Fire In Our Throats...'. Still by any of their other bands standards, a very good album!

Totally agree with the last person, Hatebreed have once again outdone themselves. But this is a truly great record, as good as 'One With The Underdogs'. Mugs is one of the best vocalists in the modern hardcore scene... Terror generally dont know how to disappoint!

Truly breathtaking album. Best Hatebreed album since 'Perseverance'. 'Never Let It Die' and 'Destroy Everything' are 2 of the most positive hardcore songs Ive heard in years. Throughout, lyrics are inspirational and the music is brutally heavy. For all you people that dig Madball, Terror & Agnostic Front, this is probably my favourite hXc record released this year...

'Crown Of Thorns'is quite possibly the most terrifyingly spooky song I've heard in aeons. Awesome album, just what the doctor ordered...

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Stoner!!, 7 July 2004
This review is from: Clouds In The Head (Audio CD)
This is an album Ive had in my collection for 2 years before listening to it. I have to say it grows on you with every listen, each song as a memorable chorus which just wants you to play again and again and again....
From Slowhead, a fast paced number till the end it doesnt let up. The album has fast paced Monster Magnet stoner, and also the more mid-paced Kyuss Stoner. I'd compare them more to the latter. Overrall, its one of the most interesting and addictive Stoner albums Ive heard in a long long time...

After hearing Dino left Fear Factory I was convinced it was the end. Relieved in a sense, after the massive disappointment that was Digimortal. A friend then bought the album just on the chance that it MIGHT be okay. How wrong we were. The double bass was crushing and immediately reminded me of Fear Factory at their very best, during the Demanufacture and Soul Of A New Machine Days. And yes, it is that heavy! Start to finish, an absolute masterpiece. Even the cover of Nirvana's 'School' got the thumbs up!
