1.0 out of 5 stars A disgraceful epitaph for a great band, 4 Nov 2007
This review is from: Five Year Scratch (Audio CD)
Perfect Daze easily stood up alongside their contemporaries Snuff, MC4, Senseless Things etc. Their vinyl releases are now very hard to find and I'd been hoping for a CD reissue for ages. Instead we get this. Missing half their best songs, which are replaced by third rate demo versions and rounded off by some of the worst packaging I've ever seen, this is a cobbled together effort which has seen very little care or attention. As this is probably the only CD release this band will ever see, the people responsible should be ashamed of themselves as Perfect Daze really did deserve better. Shabby.

I've never really been a fan of these guys before. Too arty for me- think the wrong side of Sonic Youth. This album is amzing though. It took me a day just to get past the first song! Still kind of art rock but now with great tunes. There are a couple of duffers but they don't spoil what is for me, easily this bands best album.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 23 Jan 2007
I've loved everything Bloc Party have done up until now and really wanted to like this new disc. There are some good tunes on it, but it just doesn't work for me. They seem to be aiming for a high concept album with varied musical influences but in too many places it just comes across as self-consciously arty and at times irritatingly pretentious. Some of the lyrics are particularly annoying and detract a great deal from what could have been a fantasic album.

Played fine for a week then lost one channel due to a bad connection in the adaptor. Poor Quality.
