Bristan Beeline Monobloc Sink Mixer Tap with Pull Out Nozzle Chrome Plated

3.0 out of 5 stars Not built to last, 30 Aug 2013
We've had this tap installed for about 5 years. It started dripping a couple of years ago and we had to replace the ceramic discs, which didn't help. The pull out spray doesn't sit snugly in the holder any more. It's OK I suppose, but we're going to replace it with a new (Grohe or Franke) model

2.0 out of 5 stars turns your phone into a mirror!, 17 April 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The screen protectors I received from 'deal direct uk' (and from the reviews it seems like customers are receiving different products) are quite thick and stick fine, but they give the phone a mirror-like finish. In low light the screen is easy to read, but in daylight it's hard to see what's going on through the film.... So unless you want an expensive hand held mirror, these are best avoided.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great songs, terrible quality audio, 17 Jan 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The songs on this CD are uniformly excellent - why Syl Johnson isn't a household name is beyond me. Just unlucky I guess. But this CD isn't going to do anything positive for his legacy!

Until the release of the fabulous Numero vinyl/CD box set Complete Mythology [VINYL], these songs were difficult to get hold of, which is why I bought this CD, but unfortunately the sound quality here is quite dreadful - one of the worst audio mastering jobs I've ever been unfortunate enough to hear. The sound is extremely harsh, with masses of compression - sounds like you're listening to an AM radio broadcast.

Have a look at the cover art - doesn't exactly build expectations does it?

Best avoided!

1.0 out of 5 stars not a genuine part, 18 Aug 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I can't speak for all of those listed by Marketplace sellers on Amazon, but the one I bought (from seller Star E-shop) was clearly not genuine, as listed - it is much harder plastic than the original Nokia item and is very difficult to get on and off the phone. The plastic itself is already deterorating on the back of the sleeve. A poor Chinese knock-off I'm afraid.

Seller promptly refunded price in full without even replying to my complaint. Take care!

3.0 out of 5 stars great music, poor packaging, 14 Oct 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: 25 Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Well, it's cheap, and the music's good, but the packaging of this CD (at least, the EMI Australia Edition I have) is unbelievably shoddy. The booklet is printed on flimsy paper, and the artwork, including the CD onbody, appears to have been (poorly) scanned from a different edition. If it weren't for the crisp barcode I would assume it was a bootleg. No liner notes either - very basic. Not the sort of CD that might encourage someone to buy it rather than downloading it...

4.0 out of 5 stars fantastic music, shame about the packaging, 24 Jun 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The music on this 4CD compilation is fantastic - a really great selection from a wide range of (mainly black) American pre-war music.

However, the packaging is very disappointing. The copy I received is monochrome throughout, with very amateurish graphics that belong on a VHS tape from the 80s, and don't look anything like the artwork on this listing. The tracklisting on the back only covers the first 2 discs, with a small paper insert added at the last minute with the remaining tracks listed. The mechanism that holds the CDs themselves is also somewhat arcane.

I note from Rhythm & Blues Records website that one of the discs has been poorly mastered, and a replacement CD is available to all purchasers. They are also offering a new slipcase for volume 1 with sales of volume 2. Hopefully this will rectify some of the problems with this package - what is after all a genuine musical labour of love.

Imagine if this had been put together with the care that, for instance, the Harry Smith Anthology received! Mind you, it would have been considerably more expensive than this bargain, I'm sure!

1.0 out of 5 stars poor design, 28 April 2008

my sons have all the toys in this range, and they are mostly very well designed and made. Unfortunately Lofty is very poorly put together. We've had two of these now - the first one broke within a couple of weeks, the second one within half an hour! The hubs that attach the wheels to the axles are very weak, and with even the slightest pressure and the wheels come off. And that's that. A real shame - how are we supposed to complete the set!?

5.0 out of 5 stars A bargain!, 6 Aug 2007
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Lee Hazlewood RIP. I hope they have Chivas in the next life Lee!

Buyers should note that this album is essentially a compilation of the 3 albums Lee recorded for MGM: Something Special, The Very Special World Of... and Lee Hazelwood-ism: Its Cause and Cure, with a few bonuses, all of which are now (finally) available individually on CD through the wonderful Water label. The Water editions feature the original artwork, but no bonus tracks, and this comp is a third of the price!

This is prime Hazlewood, and not to be missed at any price.

4.0 out of 5 stars great content - rubbish sound and picture, 1 Sep 2006
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
just to reiterate what one reviewer wrote below - the content of this DVD is great, but the picture quality, and particularly the sound, is very variable, with some episodes really below par. A shame. Let's have a remaster!
