Eragon (Inheritance Cycle)
Eragon (Inheritance Cycle)
by Christopher Paolini
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, 10 Oct. 2007
If you enjoy dragons, fanatasy and adventure then you NEED to read this book.
It's very gripping; a real page turner. The characters are fanatastic, and Eragon is a great hero.
Read the book before you watch the film; the book's way better, and seeing the film might spoil the wonderful experience that you get from reading the book.
If you liked books like The Saga of Darren Shan, Wolf Brother, Percy Jackson or The Bartimaus Trilogy, then you must read this.

4.0 out of 5 stars The beggining of the end for Darren and co?, 10 Oct. 2007
You'll be needing the hankies for this one!
The action is fairly non-stop in these three books.
Darren meets a few old friends, and foes. Also, the dying begins! Quite a few characters pop their clogs in these books . . . .
As well as the all the action, there are many emotional moments and even a few funny ones!
Also, you begin to see what the heroes will need to sacarfise in order to 'save the world'.
If you liked the previous Darren books, then you'll love this!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is where the saga really kicks off!, 10 Oct. 2007
After the slightly slow first three books, these three really crank up the action!
They're true page-turners with plenty of twists and turns to keep you hooked.
And don't worry, the book just keep getting better!
These books see Darren enter the heart of the vampire world, battle for his life, and meet the vampires' arch-enemies!
Great books, I highly recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great start to a great series!, 10 Oct. 2007
These are probably my favourite three books in the series.
While it might not be as action-packed as following books, they're still as emotional.
Once you've read this, you'll definatly want to read the sequels. I did, anyway!
The author isn't as ruthless at the start of the saga as he is nearer the end.
Even if you find the book a bit boring, stick with it, because the next ones are way more exciting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, 10 Oct. 2007
This is a wonderful book. You simply MUST read it.
It's gripping, fast and emotional. The storyline is fantastic, and the characters seem so very real. It probably one of my favourite books of all time.
However, you may want to keep a box of hankies at close reach; the author is fairly merciless and isn't afraid to kill off his characters. Because of this, you really don't know what's going to happen. Unfortuanatly, I had the story spoiled so it didn't turn out as riviting as it would have been.
I would advise you read the previous books before starting this one, as they give you a greater insight into the story and characters, although a short summary of the story-so-far is present at the start of each book.
So, keep clear of spoilers, and this will turn out as a beautiful, unforgettable story that you will remember long after you finish it.

Demon Apocalypse: 6
Demon Apocalypse: 6

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, 10 Oct. 2007
This review is from: Demon Apocalypse: 6 (Hardcover)
If you've read the previous Demonata books, then this is a must. It picks up exactly where Blood Beast left off, and the action kicks off straight away.
If you haven't read the previous Demonata book (especally Lord Loss, Slawter and Blood Beast - Bec and Demon Thief slot in well even if you don't read them in chronological order), then I strongly recommend you do. It would be hard to understand what was going on if you hadn't.
Demon Apocalypse is a LOT more gory than the books before it, and it might not be such a good idea to read it if you have a queesy stomach.
It answers a lot of questions, but isn't as much of a page turner as I found Blood Beast to be.
Overall, it's a great book. If you've read the other Demonata books (and enjoyed them) then you NEED to get this. If you haven't, start with Lord Loss, and work your way through the series.
