Let's be frank, if you want to know what katy perry is saying, dig deep. If you want to follow the lyric of your favourite musical, you'll be treated to a series of quips covering the holes in this app - then it crashes. It's better to Google lyrics.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very good, 16 July 2014
Awful, hackneyed script delivered at a snail's pace.

It's useful, if you need to jot something down. Not sure I'd use it for projects. The page is not as big as you'd imagine, since a third of the screen is covered by the keyboard.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hack job, 1 April 2014

This is an oddity. Evidently the majority is cut and paste from decades of interviews from a variety of media (the most telling evidence being Linda's intermittent comments made apparently from beyond the grave). If this had been produced as a wiki page the rapidity of reference numbers would induce a migraine. Not without some interesting nuggets, but it's a dry volume. Ultimately, McCartney comes through as an artist who's best on his own, makes bad judgment calls as often as others have hot dinners, and invariably shrugs off the consequences. I picked up the book, expecting to gain respect for Paul and his ventures, but I'm left with my suspicions confirmed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Album - but why withhold one track?, 8 Mar. 2014
I used to have this on vinyl - great affection for all things Gong.

My MP3 album is short of track 8 - and blow me, AMAZON has chosen to make this track only available if you buy the whole album (as do iTunes).

Great to finally have a digital recording of the original concept album. Julie Covington's rendition of 'Lament' is refreshingly calm and reflective in comparison to Madonna's melodramatic, overwrought version.

3.0 out of 5 stars Is this a documentary?, 3 Mar. 2014

In a short space of time, it appears that Scorsese gave up trying to make this as a documentary and simply allowed the footage of the specially arranged gig to speak for itself.

Jagger delivers staccato, dispassionate vocals over a tightly rehearsed band. Keef's shambling solo vocal contribution is disguised by the brief return to the documentary style - a bewildering chunk of archive material that bares little relation to the present, more valuable footage of a band straining in different artistic directions.

Can't help thinking this could have been a hard-nosed documentary with some kick-ass live performances, if Scorsese had balanced the piece more evenly.

Having not read DH Lawrence since 6th form in 1976, I thought I'd complete the novel I'd only touched upon (in order to satisfy an extended essay). This was a slog for me, which says a lot about how narrative in fiction, not to mention the quality of vocabulary, has declined over the years.

Having enjoyed Keef's autobiography, it was that book that made me curious to hear more of his projects beyond The Stones. This is an easily enjoyable collection.

This volume of anecdotes and musings works far better than the 'Red Carpets...'. Perhaps Rupert has found his rhythm after all.
