A wonderful insight into the railways in the 70s, 8 May 2008
This is a tremendous follow-up to Andy Sparks' first book, British Rail Northern Scene. In it, he explores a much wider geographical area than the first, covering scenes from North Wales right across to the North-East.
He is obvioulsy very knowledgeable, and his photographs offer an accurate picture of how the railways operated at this time. With chapters covering all aspects of the system and detailed text which explains the background, this is an excellent book which ought to appeal to all those with an interest in how BR operated in this turbulent period.
