people either say amazing things about this album or that its nothing special!

i hadnt heard it (all the songs as a whole ne way) before the other day! i wasnt sure what to think of it before hand! after hearing it i can safely say that it is a 4.5/5 album! v. gd! not rly a duff song there and there are some exceptional songs on the album!

it is definatly an essential album for your record collection no doubt!

5.0 out of 5 stars the album of the gods, 14 Dec. 2005
This review is from: Elephant (Audio CD)
alternative music is the best there is, and the white stripes are the best alternative artists ever. this is an album for the history books. i cant think of many better.
one of my favourite qualities that the ws posses, is that not one song they've recorded sounds the same as another. especially on this album.
the songs do differ from classic rock anthems - seven nation army, to stunning solo infused blues - ball and biscute, to rock n roll skit - well its true that we love one another, with the much talented holly golightly. jack n meg also prove my much debated point of bass players arent needed and two people can make just as much noise as 5. and the best thing is, the analogue recording methods have allowed for all their trademark raw hard edged sound to show through on cd.
in my eyes there is not a better album out there.
juts beware that after purchase you will be buying gig tickets to get the maximum effect of jack's solos and meg's talent for holding it down in just the right place with her animal drumming.

5.0 out of 5 stars stunning!!!, 10 Nov. 2005
This review is from: Stairs and Elevators (Audio CD)
i heard a couple of these guys songs a while ago now and loved them. now i have heard the whole album, im suprised that they are only as big as they are. this album is top quality. and despite the name im supprised never to have found it on the shelves of any high street shop that i have been looking for it in for the past few months. all bar one song are fabulous. these guys can play thir instuments, and erika winnerstrom (the singer/guitarist) has on almighty voice. its like nothing else and she cansing so well too. if ur a fan of white stripes black keys that sought of almost blues but more rock, lots of distorion stuff then u cannot live any longer without this album.

this is sheer brilliance.
a singer/moog player, bass guitar player and a drum/percussion player. with elements of harmonica and organ, nothing sounds quite like it. original and not one song sounds alike. not to everybodys tastes, but this is one of the best set of songs i have ever heard, and with jack white at the production helm, this album is perfect in every way possible. you wont get a better album(ep). thats a promise.
my favourite song is 'h is o' but the rest are equally sublime.
a music lovers must have item.
