Vax Air Pet U88-AM-Pe Upright Vacuum
Price: £107.79

3.0 out of 5 stars scucks to be a lefty., 27 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Got the hoover for £50 so a bargin. The hose is short making it a real pain to use the auto stop feature is annoying, the fact it is desigined to be used by right handed people makes it lose a star (you have to put your foot on the left part and pull back the handle which is impossible if you are left handed).

We had a vax for years which you just pushed a button with your foot that unlocked the hoover.

Loved the price as £50 for a hoover is a bargin hate the nanny features, short hose and right hand use only.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but the box sucks., 27 Feb. 2015

I ordered this with the intention of replacing a car wing as i dont own socket set. Firstly the feel it of the ratchet feels well built got some good weight to it and the ratchet mechanism feels like a quality product that wont fall apart on the first use.

I read a few people mention the "wobbly end bit" this was designed on purpose!!!!! To give you some play and a bit of forgiveness when reaching bolts the actual link is not gonna move or fall off its sturdy.

My biggest gripe is the poorly designed box getting the extension bar is a pain you need to use a small screw driver to get it even after cutting some foam out it is still a chore to get out. The box lid wants to close when its on a table so you have to hold the lid with one finger to stop it closing on you, hold the base with your thumb the use your other had to pull a bit out. Its not the end of the world but it is more involved than taking a bit out should be.

All in all i like it just the box sucks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Looks great but quality is not amazing., 30 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Pros
- wires are pre cut.
even chrome finish.
Looks great.
Easy to install

Cons
Made with cheap flimsy metal so the base plate that you screw in bends easily.
The screws that come with it are cheap and one of them snapped when screwing in the ceiling.

Its a nice light that is easy to install looks the part but could be better with stronger metal for the base and better quality screws.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light output is amazing and as a geek i am impressed., 30 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
For those who are impatient here are the pros and cons.
Pro's
-Light output is more than enough for a livingroom or kitchen.
-Its retro fit so no need for inverters just take out the halagen gu10s and plug these in.
-Low power draw for a lot more light output compared to a 50w halogen.
-Not nearly as hot as a halogen after a hour its possible to remove these with your bare hand without burns.
-The biggest point is lower power use.

Cons
-Not dimmable
-Life span unknown
-Not cheap
-Quality of internal wiring unknown.

I have never bought bulbs in my life (i am 21) these where the first set i have bought (being a nerd i had to go led) and i can honestly say they are great my room is about 7ft wide by about 12ft long its not huge. I had a 50w energy saving bulb as my main light and frankly a toaster gives off more light than those bloody things my 40w side light and my 50w bedroom light hardly lit my room up(gave a dusky glow if you will).

I invested in a gu10 4 port light fitting and a pack of these bulbs now my room is lit up like new york!! You could drop a tiny screw on my carpet and would find it with ease the light is pure white light (some may find it harsh light) but the light output is top notch i have 4 and really 2 would be fine to do soldering, computing basically fiddly things that require good light.

In out kitchen we have a 40w halogen gu10,50w halogen gu10 and i put one of these 4w led bubs in to show my gran what the difference is, my gran was shocked at the difference just one of these bulbs made to the kitchen. The 40w halogen looks like a standby tv light, the 50w halogen look like it was on dim, this one bulb practically lit up all the kitchen counter top where the 40w and 50w halogen gave a dim feeling (you can see but the light output was not great).

All in all the light output is great its more than enough for a living room or a kitchen. The early led bulbs had issues with needing inverters, possible risk of shock (as seen on youtube teardowns) but these are plug and play no need for inverters, they are made of plastic so no shock risk and the leds are covered by a plastic leanse so again no risk of electric shock (the first gen leds had no leans so you had a 50 50 chance of getting live on the front plate no risk with these bulbs at all).

They get hot but unlike a halogen you can take one of these out with your bear hand even after an hour its hot but manageable. I will report back as its early days so longevity is still to be tested.

4.0 out of 5 stars Product is good but instructions are crap., 22 Jan. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
So i bought this to hang a 32" lg tv and its a great wall mount simple well built for the price. It comes with all the tools and even a handy little spirit level which is a nice touch for something as cheap as this that helps you get it spot on.

The only bad thigs i have to say is the instructions are terrible honestly they are bad and the screws on the bottom that stop people from being able to steal it are impossible to get to when its wall mounted unless you have a really long screw driver.

That aside for £8 its a bargin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great stubble shaver., 2 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I ordered this to replace my old i stubble 7890u that went MIA.

After reading some reviews i was hesitant to buy but honestly the cut is no different as i found my old shaver just a week after i bought the 7895u plus (sods law) the memory feature is so useful i never have to mess with settings just turn it on it adjusts to my last setting automatically and when i turn it off it reset to 0.4mm.

If you expect to pick one of these up and get a even shave of the first few passes you will be disappointed because it does not work like that to get a good uniform cut you will spend a good 10-15 min going over your face. Around your neck it will miss those long flat hairs so you will need to finesse around there. Before you shave give the blades a good dose of oil and let it run for a few min and soak up the drippings.
All in all i like it as a clean shave makes me look like a out of proportion baby.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be better., 2 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ordered this to cater to my never ending gadget collection like ps4 controller, tablets, phone, wireless keyboards.

On the face of the box the packaging is simple and provides great protection for the charger as a huge box is not needed, the unit it self is very nice upon first opening it the unit feels well built with a soft smooth rubber coating, the unit is sturdy no creaking or anying solid.

One huge gripe i have is the annoying whine it emits when charging something like my phone or tablet which makes it impossible to use when i go bed, a huge disappointment as it feels such a well built product to be let down by this and i find coil whine an unforgivable thing.

The whine does not mean it will blow up it is more than often a poor quality coil that is vibrating but from a other wise solid feeling unit this is defiantly a huge scratch on a otherwise flawless paint job.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but could be better., 12 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
So i got this unit use for a htpc as the form, size, features were what i needed. After ordering a few other models i had a big problems with heat (far beyond what is acceptable at idel) after a bit of research i found intel was up to their old trick of using really cheap thermal paste that dries up so the heat is not being drawn from the cpu to the heat sync as efficiently as it could be.

The unit is easy to build and everything is accessible to install even with my big hands tho getting the lid off can be tricky. First thing i noticed the fan was louder than you would expect i would border on annoyingly loud but a quick fan tune in the bios has the unit inaudible at 3ft and is certainly not audible when a movie is playing.

The mini hdmi is annoying and i would have preferred intel to use a standard hdmi cable in its place as i needed to then buy a new cable.

If you are looking to plug and play this is not the pc for you but if you are willing to tweak settings and set it up it has the capability to become a really good htpc or mini desktop pc, i could have built a cheaper one myself but the footprint would have been much larger (you are paying a premium for the form).

The cons

Price is really high for what it is as when you are done you are paying just under the price of a mac mini.
Noise the fan is really loud out the box and can be distracting at times.
Bad thermal paste that causes the cpu to run hotter.

Pros

Makes a great htpc
Small footprint
Once you down clock the fan its in audible (the temps even with the down clocked fan are safe)
It is not out of place in a living room, bedroom or were ever you want it.

The unit has room to improve but is more than acceptable for my needs and people looking for a small pc and is near silent after a bit of tweaking.

So after setting up the mini pc as a htpc i can say its a nice little computer, you can build a pc for less but you can not get a unit this small. Its a great pc but it is louder than what you would think people say if you are 3ft away you can not hear it but that is not true its louder than my i7 macbook pro but a quick bios fan change fixes that rather quickly all in all its a nice pc but its pricy.

If you are someone looking for a small htpc, small pc its a good choice but the nuc needs some revisions.
Pros
small
simple
makes a good htpc

Cons
loud
runs hot
expensive

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid if you want to play ONLINE WITH MATES., 25 Sept. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Trials Fusion (PS4) (Video Game)
Got this game to play with my mates (like with the last trials game) the main draw was the online multiplayer so having had a lot of fun on the last game via online multiplayer i had no second thoughts about buying the newer version with a "nextgen multiplayer" this is were the game loses ALL appeal.

After months of promising to bring the multiplayer out as it needed more time the developers announce that they will not be bringing out the online multiplayer (which is safe to say the main reason it sold as many copies as it did). The bait and switch is becoming too common in the gaming industry with aliens colonial marines(dumb down graphics, dumb ai) watchdogs graphics dumbed down, trials making a big thing about the online experience then announcing 4 months after everoyne got it they will not be bringing online to this game....

If you are the person who has mates round your house to game this is a good game for you but if you are like the 99% of console gamers who play with people online who are from different countries, towns then avoid. If i could i would get a refund but thats not gonna happen.
