5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap but efficient, 25 Mar 2014

Tricky to position but does the job!
Cheaper than similar products you can find in the high street that the Apple store does not sell.
Great product and will buy again!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pure Heaven music, 27 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I'm a real fan of Philly music and this is a real gem containing almost all the essentials. I wrote "almost" because The Three Degrees are missing which is a real shame. How can they call this 40th Anniversary Collection and not include The Three Degrees?
Also the MP3 version is completely different from the CD box as one previous reviewer wrote: some key gems from Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, The Trammps and others are missing. Maybe that's why the price is cheaper. Still this is a real master piece in pre-disco sounds with the "je ne sais quoi" Philly sound.
Just for the above I would have rated 5 stars and even more.
I would recommend anyone interested in the good old music days if the 70's-80's to invest on this beauty!

Lettres philosophiques (French Edition)
Lettres philosophiques (French Edition)

1.0 out of 5 stars Very bad, 14 July 2012

A very bad translation as the result of a translation from French into English and then back into French. Lots of strange expressions that do not exist in French, and bad use of words.
I would not recommend this version...

5.0 out of 5 stars A real testimony of respect, 31 Jan 2012

Michelle Williams's book is a real page turner. At first I thought it would be review of gruesome post mortem practices and gory details. It would be a lie to say there is no such thing, but the essence of the book is to show that there is more respect and consideration in the world of the dead compared to the living's. I read the book in two weeks, and was never bored one minute as it reveals a world unknown to most of us, which brings fear, fascination and curiosity. Michelle has achieved to show humility, human touch and a non-judgemental description of the poor souls she looked after. Great piece of work!

Eyewitness Auschwitz: Three Years in the Gas Chamber
Eyewitness Auschwitz: Three Years in the Gas Chamber

5.0 out of 5 stars Ashamed of being human, 18 Sep 2011
I bought this book and read it in one week. Filip Muller, who was a prisonner in Auschwitz-Birkenau reviews in details, but objectively the most horrific parts of the deportation. His descriptions are very graphic, and sometimes made me feel sick. I felt like I was there, witnessing with the author the atrocities perpetuated by the SS on the jews, gypsies, POW's and other inmates. I also felt ashamed to be a human being, if that was what human beings were capable of: nothing I saw, read or was told on the topic could match the horrors reviewed in Filip Muller's book. This book is also a tribute to the resilience of those people who knew they were about to be gassed and cremated, but who remained in dignity and still believed in their faith although, in this context, the notion of God does not seem to mean anything any longer.
This book should be published more widely throughout the world and passed from generations to generations to avoid forgetting what happened in a recent past, which unfortunately is still common in the present.

1.0 out of 5 stars Flat and boring, 20 Jan 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Boring, flat, the story is disappointing and the characters are confusing. By the title and from the beginning, you expect an investigation of a dark devious religious sect called the Cabal and you find out in the end, that it does not exist. The plot lacks of imagination, action, tension and suspense.
One of the worse books I have ever read which has been permanently from my Kindle.

3.0 out of 5 stars From a French point of view, 27 Dec 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I downloaded this book shortly after receiving my Kindle. I read this book when I was a student in France and I must admit it is a great piece of work. However, even at the risk of being qualified as a pedantic, I really was disappointed finding that the Kindle version has omitted all the accents, which are probably the biggest difficulty for foreigners who wish to master a foreign language. It feels like the whole text has been copied on a QWERTY keyboard, and the person who did it did not bother respecting the language. Being French, I do not mind so much, however reading the Kindle version feels like eating a great piece of cheese without a good glass of red wine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great deal, 20 Nov 2010

Bought this perfume years ago in Paris for £45, and unfortunately almost impossible to find in the UK. Less than £15 on line is amazing. Delivery was secure and the bottle was wrapped in a grey flannel pouch, although the French version was packed in a box. It takes longer than buying in a shop (one week delivery), but worth the wait and much cheaper (£30 savings!...). Also the American version sold online is slightly stronger than the one I bought in Paris. I know where to buy my perfume now!
