Lovely "live" version of the title track from his last studio outing.

Fitting that it's on his new symphonica album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Explicit what, 26 Feb 2014
The track details say explicit. Explicit what? It's an instrumental! How is this track explicit? This needs to be explained.

1.0 out of 5 stars WTF? The whole more expensive than the parts?, 4 Nov 2013
So 7 tracks at 99p = 6.93. If you buy the album as a whole, you save a whopping -2.56.

That's a great savings.

5 stars for the music, 0 stars for the multi-track purchasing discount.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk, 29 Aug 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I can't emphasis enough how useless this product is. Firstly, with the second panel installed I still don't get over 50% charge in the main device, so hurrah for that. Secondly, upon connecting the "fully" charged main panel to my phone, I get about 10 minutes charge to my phone before the panel is dead.

I really really warn people against buying this product. I've bought a few duff products in my day, but this has got to be the most useless of them all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works a treat on my Onkyo receiver, 29 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Given that my options to get my Onkyo receiver were all quite expensive (get a wireless adapter for my Xbox or buy the official Onkyo wireless receiver), this did the trick for a tenner!

Not really sure how Onkyo can attempt to charge almost 50 for the same functionality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Back to the dancefloor and it's NOT Elysium, 18 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Electric (Audio CD)
When an album starts out as a Chris "Clubbing" Lowe side project, you know it's going to be - at the very least - a toe tapping affair.
This album, their first as an indie band, does not disappoint. From the very chart-unfriendly first single (the brilliant) Axis, to the album closer Vocal, this alphabetically assembled trip back to the dancefloor is a welcome return for the duo, given their last album "Elysium" really felt like a "waiting out our contract" album.

4.0 out of 5 stars reminds me of wonderful ethereal music from my yoof, 18 July 2013

Hints of Lisa Gerrard, the more ethereal Kate Bush and Dead Can Dance, this is a really awesome track. I have no idea what their other music sounds like, but this track is a keeper.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't charge a Xoom over USB, 6 May 2013
Stellar knowledge of the product yet once again. You can't charge a Xoom over USB, only over the proprietary charge interface. This will be a waste of money if that is your intention.

4.0 out of 5 stars Didn't get it on first listening, 22 Mar 2013

Some of the best albums are "slow burners" and this one fits the mould. I wasn't really sure what to expect on first listen. First album in ten years, would it be Reality Part 2 or did Bowie find something more inventive to say in the re-invention style of Diamond Dogs or Low?

It's not a reinvention, but it IS a very good album. There are elements here of Bowie past, it's like he's reviewed how he's done things over the last 40 years and just dropped a guitar lick here or a drum beat there from his past lives. There's snippets of Stevie Ray Vaughn guitar from the "Let's Dance" era and (scarily enough) a couple of songs really sound like they could fit in the "Never Let Me Down" era.

Thankfully he hasn't mined Tin Machine's "Stateside" for inspiration.

Standout tracks for me at the moment are current single "The Stars (Are Out Tonight)" and "(You Will) Set the World on Fire". (Never underestimate the power of the bracket in a song title)! Even debut single "Where Are We Now?" fits better in the context of the overall album - on first listen I felt it sounded too much like a brittle old man, but you quickly understand that was the feeling he was going for as opposed to the current state of things.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's not Duran but it's still awesome, 22 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
If you like thoughtful, deep experimental music this album is for you. The way Nick and Warren were able to weave the a tapestry around speech samples is excellent. This smacks more of Warren's solo material than anything Duran have released. I can't stop listening to it.
