1.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Poor Quality, 3 Dec 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This sort of tat that they turn out by the bucket load on the Shopping Channel is getting more and more common on Amazon. it really is miniscule.
The chain is so wafer thin it almost floats away on the breeze and would snap within 5 minutes if ever worn,
The pendant itself needs the Hubble Telescope to observe any detail in it - it really is that tiny and flimsy. Value of metal and gem used is less than £ 15 by weight and carat so how on earth they reckon the retail price was £130 plus is beyond me ! Some people really do get away with murder !

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Tat, 1 Dec 2014

Not even big enough to fit a pencil inside , all plastic lined and a stupid rubber monkey as a zip ring-pull. The type of thing that Madge from the Tv show Benidorm would keep a couple of cigarettes in on her way to the Bingo Club.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn To Read More Carefully - Note To Myself, 24 Nov 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was very disappointed to receive this calendar as it is the exact opposite of what Amazon claim.it is.
It is in fact a set of twelve illustrations from an old edition of The Lord of The Rings and has absolutely nothing to do with The Hobbit at all.
Whilst the description further down the page states this fact (my fault for not reading) the title of "Tolkien Calendar 2015: The Hobbit (Calendars 2015) " is highly misleading at the very least.
Considering the film "Hobbit" reaches it theatrical release conclusion next month I hope I can be forgiven for thinking that when I saw the tile " The Hobbit " I would receive an actual calendar featuring art illustrations of "The Hobbit"
Can't give it less than 5 stars though as the artwork is beautiful & it's not the fault of the calendar manufacturers for Amazon's sloppy mistakes nor my own inability to read more carefully further down the page to spot the error myself.

2.0 out of 5 stars Remastered ? Really ?, 4 Oct 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Remastered ? Really ?
If you consider collecting together a lot of ropey sounding warped 12 inch vinyl copies that sound like they have been played at 101 nelly discos up and down the country over the years before being "remastered" on to this double CD then fair enough.

The bass muffles a lot of the treble output, the crack hiss and scratches of the vinyl records has not been eliminated, you can hear the sound of the needle running in the vinyl groove - pretty abysmal quality really.

On top of that , most of this isn't even HiNRG , bar one or two Euro NRG tracks the rest is strictly UK Northern Soul rehashes that Fiachra & Trench turned out by the millions in the mid 80s and that nobody danced to outside an exclusive underground Northern Soul Club Scene.

Most Hi NRG fans will not even recognise most of these tracks which sound like a mix between Motown and a fast drum machine.

Most of this would be forgivable if they actually admitted on the CD sleeves that they have not bothered to resource any of the original master tapes and have used their old vinyl record collection instead but they don't do that.

Those of you who have the original vinyl classics - dub them onto your PC with one of those vinyl converter converters you get from Argos - the quality will be much better believe me !

There are some pretty good vinyl conversion CDs out there but this is not one of them , this is on a par with the worst that Cherry Pop Records produce. Awful !

1.0 out of 5 stars Undoubtedly the worst camera I have ever bought., 5 Sep 2014
I bought the camera in Ireland as an emergency stop gap as my cousin smashed my more expensive FUJI by dropping it on the ground.

I didn't like it right from the off although I know that the controls are set out in a way that all 2014 digital cameras are arranged but this one is so plastic and flimsy it feels like it will float right out of your hand.

Picture quality ranges from acceptable to grainy to blury to downright appaling. I have seen how to adjust the resolution on the onscreen menu because I was curious why it is, no matter how high I adjust the resolution, the size of the photo stays constant at 3.5 mb - I can also find no auto focus meaning half the shots I take (especially indoors) come out a blurry mess.

Just goes to show, bigger size does not mean better quality. boasting 18 mbp may be a good marketing tool to trap the unwary ( I already knew about this trick but had no other option being on holiday) but there is little point having 18 mbp when the quality of the camera and lens is absolute pants like the Polaroid iE826.

Video quality is appalling, shaking, inaudible in all conditions and pixellated and my Camera at least, is going straight in the bin, it really is absolute trash and I will never buy a Polaroid Product again after this debacle and finding out it is manufactured by an outfit called "Sakar" who I have never heard of.

As a final test of the product before reviewing then binning it, I decided to use the software. I then discovered the software CD is corrupt. (Yes i did try it on 2 separate PCs and a laptop) so I can't use it and as said before , they have no online support & no website to download the software from.

Polaroid told me to phone Sakar who make the phone who told me there is no online link for support or software and I have to send the entire unit back for replacement (which I can't do as I binned the outer cardboard box in Ireland to make sure the camera fitted into my luggage on the way home)

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad But Then Again Not Good, 16 Aug 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The suitcases have good wheels, they rotate well, case seems robust and flexible (needed with the people working in baggage handling these days) I didn't have any problems setting the locks or unlocking them again.

Two negative points (one is not the manufacturers fault but rather Michael Ryan's penny pinching extreme austerity rules) - the small carry on cabin case is 3 cm too long & also too wide for the Ryanair hand baggage limits ( 58 cm and Ryan Air only allow 55 cm)

Secondly, some of the construction and quality is really bargain basement inside and makes an absolute joke of the supposed original retail price of £ 369 - £ 279 . First time I filled the case, the two attachment straps which link across the inside of the case to keep clothes etc in place, broke.
One end came away in my hand with a large glob of dried glue attached to the end which is how it was fixed on to the inside of the case. I'm not that fussed as I pack my case fairly full anwyay so don't need elasticated straps across the case to keep things from moving about inside but it would irritate some people and should be better designed considering the price.

3.0 out of 5 stars The sound quality is good, most are sourced from tapes but the original ..., 12 Aug 2014
The sound quality is good , most are sourced from tapes but the original reviewer is wrong -half of these are NOT the original 12'' Mixes (I only type what I know for sure)

1) Hit N Run Lover is the Ugly Remix with the synth lines missing.

2) One Night Only is the ugly re-edit that first appeared on "The Best Of Megatone" - it is not the original mix.

3) Cuba Libre - this again is a later re-released re-recorded re-mix, the original runs at 5 min 45 sec and is credited as being by Jo-Lo not Modern Rocketry. This version is from the Modern Rocketry album.

4) Don't Leave Me This Way - this is the sylvester mix ,the "B" side of the original vinyl release, (not the original 12;'' Mix)

5) Menergy - another messy re-edit, not the original fantasia release by any stretch of the imagination.

6) Homosexuality - again, a REMIX not the original and really ugly as well. The classic original mix is one minute shorter at 6 min 3 sec. The version on this CD is truly awful & hideous & is the worst of the lot.

The other tracks not mentioned are fine but boring album fillers anyway apart from "Computer music" by Suzy Q which is good. .

1.0 out of 5 stars defective faulty and never improved, 17 April 2014
They work great (at least some of them at first) but after a few weeks, 4 of the 5 models I bought suddenly developed the classic fault of the button on the top becoming stuck. You could neither switch it on or off and the surge protection was no longer in operation.
I have seen hundreds of similar complaints all over the internet (go google it) but Masterplug seem oblivious to this fact or simply don't care and have done absolutely nothing over the years to try and improve the model's reliability - it's not exactly cheap either at £ 20 - £ 30 a go !
Best stick to a more reliable company and model such as Belkin, I've had no problem with them and avoid masterplug at all cost .

1.0 out of 5 stars Faulty, 18 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This isn't really a review as I have not had the chance to review this unit as it arrived faulty. However, I think it's important that such things are reported so anyone thinking of buying one can see how many arrive like that. I'm sure the majority are fine and work no problem but mine just refused to read any discs at all despite the fact that the same discs were read no problem by a Blu-Ray disc optical drive in the same PC.
It is a barebones drive - no leaflet or instructions. No box and no CD and no screws to fasten it securely inside the PC.
Returned for refund.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pads ? More like pants !, 20 Feb 2014

They are as cheap as chips which is a good thing obviously but not if they are totally useless for the purpose for which they are designed. I bought these to stick one of those little battery operated indoor lights in the cupboard under my stairs and in my wardrobes and despite fixing them firmly both sides onto bare walls and wallpaper, they all fell off within days despite the fact that the objects they were fixing tot he walls weighed less than 40 grams.
Maybe they are OK for paper but then again, what would you want to use them on paper for /
