4.0 out of 5 stars Great breakfast bar or light snack, 10 Jan 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
These Alpen Light cereal bars are a regular feature in my weekly shop and this variety (Cherry Bakewell) are top of my list. At only 70 calories a bar they are a great little snack, although admittedly not filling enough for some.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice hint of chocolate, 10 Jan 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This new Weetabix with Chocolate makes a tasty change from the usual plain variety. Although I am not usually a fan of chocolate for breakfast, the chocolate chips are quite subtle and the sweetness means I am not tempted to add sugar! I think this would be good for someone who is bored with their breakfast cereal for a change, rather than a regular buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for jet-setters and arm-chair travellers alike, 3 Jan 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Great Escapes is another Lonely Planet publication following on from similar coffee table books from Great Adventures (2012) and Great Journeys (2011). As with Lonely Planet's other publications this is contains beautiful photography and information for numerous places across the globe. The book is split into 10 sections: Culture, Luxe, Food & Drink, Romance, City, Chill-Out, Shoestring, Family, Wild, and Party, with between 4 and 12 subsections within each.

With 4 pages for most journeys with over half of that being dedicated to pictures, the information is succinct and thus is best seen as a great source of inspiration rather than a guide to any specific place. Each section follows the same format and I especially like the maps showing the key locations, essential experiences whilst there and the plan it/detour options to help make the most of your time in the region.

From an Escape to Ecuador's Cloudforest to One Night in Tokyo; Sleeping out on the Kenyan Savannah to Waltzing away a Weekend in Vienna, there is something for everyone. Unfortunately I noticed quite a few typos whilst reading this book and this detracted from what is otherwise a quality product.

Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation - 45 Warm Almond
Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation - 45 Warm Almond

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm a convert, 3 Jan 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I am a big fan of Max Factor foundation as I usually use Max Factor Colour Adapt Foundation - 70 Natural. This new Whipped Creme foundation is very similar in terms of coverage - neither too heavy nor too light - it just evens out skin tone and covers up minor blemishes. I particularly like how easy it is to apply as it is looks so creamy but is actually very light and easy to apply with your fingers. I was worried that this (45 Warm Almond) would not be the correct colour for me as it is different to the shade I usually have but it was perfect with the almond toning down the pinkness of my skin. Although this jar only contains 18ml of product compared with the 34ml pump bottle of my usual Colour Adapt foundation, there is no waste as you can control how much you get and it is also cheaper. I would definitely recommend this make up and will continue to purchase this instead of my usual foundation.

1.0 out of 5 stars My cat wouldn't eat this at all (and normally he eats anything!), 3 Jan 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
When opened, Lily's Kitchen cat food looked much nicer than the usual bits of meat in jelly - it had more of a corned beef consistency and smelled better too. Although it is more expensive than my usual Felix and Whiskas cat food, each can last for at least 2 days for a medium sized cat. However, this leads to needing to store the opened tin in the fridge. Unfortunately my cat who has never refused any food put in front of him before would not touch this at all. This could be in part due to the fact that some of the food was cold and less fresh coming straight from the fridge. However he wouldn't even eat the first serving straight from the tin so I would not recommend this food as it is a very expensive waste of food.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read, 7 Dec 2013
This review is from: Pictures of You (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
After two cars collide on a foggy road, two families lives are changed forever. April, a young mum is killed but her son Sam survives. The other driver Isabelle, blames herself for the crash. April's husband Charlie is left shocked and confused, not only for the death of his wife and grief for his son but from the news that April had a suitcase in the car. As Charlie tries to piece together what April was doing that day, Sam develops a fascination with Isabelle and they form a connection over their interest in photography. As the story develops their lives become even more intertwined and although the plot is a little slow moving in the middle I was still interested to see how it ended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended, 7 Dec 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I have been using Finish dishwasher tablets for a few years now and I highly recommend them. This pack is good value for money and even though it is more expensive than some other brands, they always leave my dishes, cutlery, glasses and pans clean, dry and streak free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple!, 27 Nov 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This Simple gift set is perfect for those with sensitive skin. The cleanser, toner and moisturiser are great sizes so they will last a long time and are very simple to use. All of the 3 products feel soothing and don't cause any irritation or redness. I have been using the Simple moisturiser for years and I find it creamy enough, however some may find it too light as a night cream. Overall it would make a great little present for someone who likes Simple skincare.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quality, weighty, pricey, 24 Nov 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This Parker ball pen comes well presented in a little box so is ideal to give as a present. It looks smart and you can feel the quality although I did wonder whether it would be a bit too heavy. However it writes comfortably and smoothly and although it is heavier than a lot of pens, it is only noticeable when writing for extended periods of time. It does seem expensive for a pen but as long as you don't lose it, it should last for a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forbidden Love, 17 Nov 2013
This review is from: Calling Me Home (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Black hairdresser Dorrie drives her client, an eighty-nine year old white woman named Isabelle, across the USA for a funeral. We don't know who the funeral is for until near the end of the book, however along the way Isabelle retells her life story to the woman who is like a daughter to her. The story begins in 1939 when aged sixteen Isabelle forms an unlikely friendship with her housekeepers black son, which develops into a relationship. The pair are determined to be together despite the dangers they face from family, friends and strangers. As the emotional story is revealed, Dorrie learns an important lesson from Isabelle's heartbreak. This is a wonderfully written love story with strong characters and plot. I would recommend to fans of The Help.
